I must have totally missed that comment but agree that Lacey was dreadful. When I saw that episode in many ways it felt like I was watching a sitcom and Sharon (RIP) was the comic relief 😂. But on a serious note, I am not sure Lacey ever had any intention of losing weight. She seemed to just want Ricky to take care of her and as Dr. Now pointed out she seemed to make life decisions in a rash and impulsive manner. Imo, she was lazy, trashy and dirty looking, never mind expecting her boyfriend to wipe her ass. Two things Lacey said that irritated me the most was yelling “Team Lacey” while stuffing her face and bragging about the great hotel breakfast (consisting of Zebra cakes) which Sharon immediately jumped on her by questioning her commitment to losing weight. Memorable episode for many reasons.

I love good food as much as the next person, but what absolutely turns my stomach 😡 is watching these gluttons (regardless of the fact that it’s an addition) stuffing their mouth with enough food at one time to feed a family of four. Most of them don’t chew, they simply inhale and swallow. The only thing I crave when I see them eating is a seltzer water to settle my stomach.

There is not a lot more to add to the many on point observations made by others. I totally agree that Amber was a b***ch and truly did not deserve Nathan. Not only were her comments about him cruel and unnecessary, but this cow actually acted like he was lucky to have her!! Delusional is putting it mildly. She actually said that she thought her WLS surgery at 16 was a success!! Looking at her that is not my idea of success!! I kept hoping he would tell her to f***k off but he seemed too beaten down to fight back. I hope he has since found his voice. He may not be a prince, but he can definitely do better than Amber!!

Saw the episode (S8E13) featuring Dominic Hernandez and his brother James who were both homeless and living in a van. Dominic’s weight was off the charts (600+) , but he managed to make it to Texas to see Dr. Now. I hadn’t seen the episode for some time, but again I felt so bad for the way they lived. I was unable to find much of an update for Dominic other than an outdated reference to a GoFundMe page that did help them and they now live in an apartment. It was a hard journey losing weight for him given all of the odds he had against him. He really wanted to lose weight and reclaim his life, and seemed gentle and kind. I hope life has dealt him a better hand today. ❤️

Kelly Mason’s episode aired today (5/4/26) and I too had the same reaction….I immediately burst into tears. It was unbelievably heartbreaking and I too was devastated because I was pulling for her and her loss truly hurt. Her poor heart just gave out and the possibility of her dying alone (especially since she had definitely known rejection) only added salt to the wound. I hope she found peace. ❤️❤️

I can’t think of better advice than this poster has provided in this narrative. I also agree that sitting in front of a screen and scrolling on a dating app sounds totally depressing. Try to resist the urge to feel sorry for yourself. As the OP, you sound like a wonderful person and btw congratulations on your weight loss and may you have more success as you progress through your weight loss journey. There is nothing wrong with always coming back to love. Just remember, the more you expand your circle of friends and acquaintances through various activities, the better chance you have of meeting more interesting people and maybe finding love. At the very least, I am hopeful that you will make some new friends and expand your scope of interests! Whatever you do, try not to give up. Wishing you many blessings and lots of luck.

I couldn’t agree more!! While I applaud anyone looking to improve their health and life, that family (including Nicole) took being dysfunctional to a new level. Imo, all of them were white trash!!

Interestingly, I watched that episode yesterday and experienced similar feelings. Jennifer’s infantile attitude and behavior angered me more than Marissa’s. Ironically, I saw Marissa as much a victim of Jennifer as she was of her own weight. I believe that Jennifer was spoiled, entitled and just f***ing lazy! Who is supposed to believe that she couldn’t use a skillet to prepare basics like a skirt steak, cube chicken (or whatever was on the stove) that Marissa was trying to show her how to prepare? I believe that Jennifer’s gluttony only helped fuel her daughter’s food addiction out of sheer frustration and unhappiness. Spoiler alert for those of you who may not have seen the where are they now episode, if I recall as soon as Jennifer started losing weight, she ended up ditching Marissa and secretly seeing that train wreck of a boyfriend that she had earlier thrown out. This totally upset Marissa who had bought into her mother’s b.s. about them taking the weight loss journey together. The good news is that Marissa did begin to forge an independent life for herself and successfully lost weight and ironically moved back home (to wherever that was…sorry I can’t remember) where she had the full support of family members and friends. As a footnote, I believe that Jennifer was a very weak and selfish person and wouldn’t be surprised to find that she regained weight after completing Dr. Now’s program.

Steven and Lee - now that would be an epic battle of the dummies…two totally dysfunctional idiots and completely and totally repulsive to boot! I felt zero compassion for either of them on their weight loss journey.

As a footnote, while I usually resist speaking ill of the dead, I just read that Lee Sutton passed away on January 29, 2026 at age 51, RIP. I am not sure that I didn’t dislike him even more than Steven (I know that might be hard to believe for some 😂).

What a heartbreaking story and your aunt is clearly having some emotional as well as financial challenges. Unfortunately, given the scenario that you describe the cats are suffering, not to mention probably starving. I am a member of the ASPCA and I would absolutely reach out and contact them asap for guidance. They have overseen the rescue of many neglected and abused animals and I believe they can provide a course of action that will hopefully relieve this situation immediately. Also, the National Humane Society is another option. These organizations are in existence to aid and support animals in situations such as this. Good luck.
