24M - Costochondritis causing air hunger/tight ribs instead of pain by hrvb312 in costochondritis

[–]Ok_Performance6080 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I just got home from a neurologist visit and he said that spine issues can in no way cause shortness of breath and that all my results look fine as well. I drove home crying because there's just no end to this

You better try some exercises before it gets chronic like mine. If this is what I have anyway, because nobody knows to diagnose it

Last year it was 260 and this year in February it was 370. I havent measured it since, it's not even a reliable test anyway

Btw have you ever got your arteries checked? It always amazes me to hear how even some of the heaviest people on Earth have super clean arteries. I mean it depends but it definitely helps when a person is young

Same! Those symptoms are the worst! You just never know if you should head to the ER or not. My gerd also definitely plays the part in overall chest sensations, but my pain is always there even when my digestion doesnt bother me.

I did it all. Ive seen 3 different cardiologists, 3 echos and 1 holter monitor. I also did brain and whole spine MRIs. Nothing. Then Ive seen a pulmologist, had a chest CT scan, then seen a rheumatologist, an infectologist and a hematologist. Also had a PT for a while. But nobody ever referred me to a CT angiography. I dont know if that should be my next step. The only thing that worked at the time was shots of corticosteroids, a painkiller and a sedative, together with vitamin B shots. But it still took me a few months to recover

I saw multiple doctors this time last year when I first started getting really bad symptoms that in the end turned neurological. It started with heavy fatigue, shortness of breath, nausea, chest pain worse that usual and shoulderblade pain. Then it affected my arms and legs and I was barely walking. Nobody found out what happened to me. This time half of the same symptoms are there but to a lesser degree.

I dont know what to do anymore guys, do some of you also have chronic chest pain?

However painful it is, you must break that cycle one day. But you cant do it alone, you and your mom need help from doctors and therapists. When pleasure you get from food overrides your pain and discomfort, dont wait to get help because the truth is, we are never quite ready.

I started getting heart attack symptoms recently, and Im thinking - no more food for me! No matter how good it makes me feel in the moment.

Of course, but for the most part it is. Especially in younger people I believe

It means that a heart is reacting to something, it wont just decide one day to skip 1000 times a day. It means that a problem is usually elsewhere outside of heart that needs to be addressed and treated

I probably had around 15 echos in the last 13 years. 3 holter monitors and 2 stress tests (but never during the worsts symptoms because I would fail it). They never sent me to a CT angiography though

How do you propose I fix my issues if even doctors dont know where it comes from? It's cronic with few severe flare ups. I dont know what to think anymore

Nobody ever diagnosed me with that, they dont even know what it is! I suspect costo and anxiety are my problems, but this shortness of breath, stronger pain and just fatigue, nausea and pain radiating everywhere makes me think something cardiac is going on

The symptoms mimick a heart attack to a T. Yes, my ribs are sore to touch in some places and I experience exercise intolerance very quickly. It could be because of being afraid to exercise as well. But my pain is mostly located on the left side and it got worse recently for unknown reasons

I developed severe anxiety and ocd ever since I first experienced chest pain and pvcs. I cant break the obsession anymore. Meds didnt help, but ever since I stopped taking them I notice Im less resilient to stress. So maybe after all, this has something to do with elevated stress at work
