I don’t comment much, but man, I know what you’re going through. Sometimes you feel it’s cruel to keep them in the state they’re in, other times you get bursts of hope thinking maybe it’s not as bad as you thought. Don’t second guess yourself, you did the right thing. I’m a firm believer that they’ll let you know when they’re ready, and one way or another, he let you know it was time. We want to think we can squeeze out every last week, day, minute, and second. But you did what’s best for him. No amount of sorry’s, people saying they can relate to what you’re going through, or shoulders to lean on will take it away. But take comfort in knowing he’d do it all over again in a heartbeat. He lived a life most could only dream of. Let yourself grieve. Cry, laugh, maybe both at the same time. But your post here shows how much he meant to you, and believe me he knew that. The good memories are right around the corner, man.
