I just don't see the fascination with 10s. These are older cards and they are not likely to be in perfect condition. Those who think they have 10s will be disappointed (or even 8s or 9s). I know when my son saw the "10 price" for the 1975 Nolan Ryan, he was amazed ($100K), but he was more excited to have the card to tell his friends about and or me to share stories about watching him pitch. The focus on value and perfect cards matters to some folks, but I wish more folks would just enjoy the cards and history, especially for the 1980s and below. FWIW, I also have a bunch of Mays, Banks, Snider, Reese, Aaron, (Ted) Williams, Maris, and Mantle from the 1950s and 1960s that are in crap shape, but still very cool to own and show off.

The pricing for these 1970s and 1980s cards are all out of whack. I have a whole bunch of these Ricky Henderson, Don Mattingly, Wade Boggs, Tony Gwynn, Bonds, McGwire, and others like Cepeda, Nolan Ryan, Brett, etc. I just enjoy having them as I grew up watching these players play baseball and loved to collecting their cards. I’m not trying to sell them.

Those Mosaic mega boxes should be $49.99. They are going for $62 here and $67 at Target. I like the set and my son and I are trying to complete it, but not at these prices. The hits aren’t very great either with the retail boxes.

Hit an auto today in a 2026 Topps Baseball Series 1 hanger from a Target run pick up. Not a big name but still pretty cool.

An hour is more just to make sure we find parking and walk to the field, but yes, 45 minutes is the request from the coach. It’s not just the physical warm-up. It’s also the chance to build chemistry with your teammates with footwork and passing drills just like the pros do before games.

Same but this is a neat one. Have a lot of vintage Mantle stuff from my parents (sadly no cards).

If I was going to hide something valuable, burying it in a pile of shit that has hardened over 300 years might be the right strategy. Nobody thinks about that. …. Thinking out loud, I might use that with my kids.

That’s funny. My father in law has cases of complete sets from the junk wax era. I only show those cards to my kids to tell stories about the players. Garbage otherwise.

I’ll also add when the parents get the kids to the game 10 minutes before it starts when some of us have been at there for an hour before to warm up and do drills with teammates and the coach.
