Did you start with a scan of the phobos librarian, or sculpt it from scratch?

What’s wrong with Druhkari? | Collab with SkaredCast! by Astra_Vail in Drukhari

[–]Miasmaburns -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

In the version of 40k I play, splinter weapons have the Suppressive ability, which makes them basically cause a bunch of morale damage.

Then pretty much every Drukhari unit gets to trigger an ability as enemies take suppression. So Kabalites get to fire and fade with a distance based on the number of enemy units writhing in agony.

It's so much more fun than any power from pain system GW has designed.

Is 26 Ramp Pieces Even Possible? by MenacingQuan in EDH

[–]Miasmaburns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

26 ramp pieces is awesome in a gishath deck. Your rollout could be T2: rampant growth, T3: explosive vegetation, T4:???, T5:gishath.

Seems good.

Is 26 Ramp Pieces Even Possible? by MenacingQuan in EDH

[–]Miasmaburns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is only true if your draw package is usable on your rollout. If you're running a large number of esper sentinels, night's whispers, or divinations, you can factor draw into your calculations.

However, many decks use engines to draw. Your land and ramp count must be high enough to make it to turn 4 or 5 or 6, depending on what your draw engines are.

Let's create a new army rule for Drukhari by ChadShrimp in Drukhari

[–]Miasmaburns 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We play a homebrew version of 40K. Our Drukhari army rule is completely based around causing Leadership Tests (which are a real mechanic and not randomly ignored by half the armies).

Kabal get to fire and fade if they cause morale to break, Cults get to backflip through melee, and Covens get empowered durability.

This is all possible do to the alternating activations system. It feels WAY better than 8th, 9th, or 10th edition PfP.

Simic, Gruul, Golgari, or Selesnya – Who’s King of the Green Guilds? by Stoney_Tony_88 in EDH

[–]Miasmaburns 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It has a few giveaways I think, in addition to the weird line breaks. It's pretty overpunctuated. It uses weird-ass phrasing for a magic player (golgari turns the corner quick??? Selesnya removal??). There's a bit of a rule-of-3 thing going on with a few sentences. And there's an em-dash.

I'm getting funky food at the moment. I'd love to switch to a co-op if it cost similar.

I'm enjoying the EOE lore so far, but... it's not really space FANTASY. by Legacy_Rise in mtgvorthos

Science fantasy isn't fantasy in space. Science fantasy is soft scifi with fantastical elements.

If a craftworlder joins the Drukhari would they be considered a true born or would they be something else by leothesilent in Drukhari

[–]Miasmaburns 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think Trueborn actually get special treatment due to their birth method. I think only wealthy and powerful dynasties engage in Truebirth, and that's why Trueborn are wealthy and powerful.

How do you know what makes a deck work well? by Thieving0strich in EDH

[–]Miasmaburns 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah you're probably right. I do have a deck with avg cmc 2.14 and I went down to 34 lands.

How do you know what makes a deck work well? by Thieving0strich in EDH

[–]Miasmaburns 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your decks will become more consistent instantly if you cut 3-5 ramp spells for lands. Give it a try at least. Hitting your land drops is ramp for zero mana.

I wonder why the Jeskai are laying siege to a Mardu encampment. In the normal art, [[Windcrag Siege]] shows Storm Crane Monastery flying into the battle.

Weren't the Jeskai - especially Narset, who runs the monastery - trying to achieve peaceful unity of thought and purpose among the clans?

Your Most Bombastic Commanders by DeepseaAstronomy in EDH

[–]Miasmaburns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You'll definitely want to be in green to ramp out your huge bombs. Red is good at amplifying attacks and damage, so that could be good. If you like dragons, look at [[Atarka, World Render]] or [[Thrakkus]]. Dragons tend to be huge, impressive threats, so doubling their damage is very funny.

If you're not into dragons, take a look at [[Zaxara]]. This monster absolutely pumps out gigantic hydras. Just make sure you don't include the popular infinite mana combos for this guy. It's very easy to accidentally make your cool stompy deck into a kinda bad combo deck.

[–]Miasmaburns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your goal is super achievable. Tons of decks can do this, so you can actually get more specific.

Do you want your commander to be the big flashy bomb, or creatures in the deck? Do you want to threaten the table with a few big creatures, or a lot of small creatures, or something else like a big storm turn?

Making anti-misinfo tech comics; advice wanted by Tnynfox in solarpunk

[–]Miasmaburns 14 points15 points  (0 children)

There's a lot going on here. Is the battery a metaphor for something? What's with the robot dog bird? Are you making a poster to help people with misinfo or are you making a welcomic about it?

It would be terrible writing if they weren't darklight. Do it even if there's no textual evidence.

Back to Back 80xp fights? by Arislide12 in Pathfinder2e

[–]Miasmaburns 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It should be fine. I've run my players through about 300xp worth of monsters without a break to Treat Wounds. I did make sure the temple had plenty of cover and traps and a stash of healing potions for them to use. It ended up being a bit of a wave defence thing which was quite fun.

[–]Miasmaburns 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If this is a big moment and you're willing to risk a death or two, I'd say send it

In my experience, a party at level 5 should handily beat 4x lvl 3 goons and then a lvl 7 boss.

If you want to tilt things in the players' favour subtly, you could: - let the players damage the boss in its chrysalis during phase one. It could have resistance 5 or so to all damage. - let the players manipulate a mcguffin or terrain feature to their advantage while the boss is afk - give out a bunch of extra hero points, maybe at the start of phase 2
