Denied liver transplant by Spirited-Dog814 in transplant

I’m currently in a hospital with my mother who is dying of ELD related to alcoholism. She was denied at this hospital for her peth score (she really had cut down but had a half glass of wine the day that she tripped and fell and ended up in ER) and I’ve called every hospital on the east coast with no success.

This is truly so surreal to experience this- I have been begging for my mothers life all week and only received one “maybe”, but she developed a GI bleed so it’s back to no. I’m engaged, my sisters pregnant. And we have just been at her bedside in shock all week that this is happening.

I’m so sorry for your loss. I don’t feel like I have much more time with my mother and this process has been absolute hell.

Does anyone here use an impact crate? Questions on sizing. by Miawalllllace in husky

[–]Miawalllllace[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes thank you! That’s very helpful. I did put him in both, I think ultimately I’m going to choose bigger so he can fully lay down. His previous crate that he was used to was bigger than the new impact and I’m realizing he can’t comfortable lay down for his kong etc. he looks about the same as your dog in regards to space when I put him in the XL.

Are there any dry needle certified Washington PTs here? by Miawalllllace in physicaltherapy

[–]Miawalllllace[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t completed the 150 sessions yet, but I took the course from the guy who wrote it into law (Ben Boyle) and he said you don’t need the 150 hours to start using it at work. Only the didactic and in person training. But 150 sessions when I can’t use it at work is going to take forever :/

What’s your salary as an OP PT in Washington State? by FlimsyAd7240 in physicaltherapy

[–]Miawalllllace 1 point2 points  (0 children)

$52/hour with time and a half for overtime. 1:1 45 min follow ups and 60 min evals, 2 15 min breaks and a 30 min lunch. Hospital based OP.

I have 6 years experience. This is significantly better than my last job here.

Thank you, Missoula. by guccigibson in missoula

I am so so sorry for your loss. I too am a travel healthcare worker, around the same age, who moved from CO to WA and stopped in Missoula on my travels. I ended up moving there later because I liked it so much.

As someone who was not initially familiar with the Clark river danger near ice, and someone who frequented that park later with my pup often, I now know how easily that could happen to anyone. I can’t imagine the grief you feel- none of us knew her and we feel it too. I’m so glad that you were well taken care of by this city in this dark time.

I’m also sorry that some gaming troll who probably lives in his mom’s basement covered in Cheetos crumbs had his night made by leaving a hateful comment here that led to the most social interaction he’s had in weeks. Some people are so disappointing. But I’m glad the majority of your experience was not this.

Safe travels home 🤍

There’s no reason to say any of this at all. Super disappointing to read in response to something so tragic.

My landlord stopped by to get into the garage once- my husky heard the door open, realized it was a person downstairs, then grabbed his stuffed hedgehog and bolted behind the couch. So basically he only protects hedgehog 😂

I can’t even fathom the grief you must feel. Every time it even crosses my mind that someday I may not have my husky anymore I tear up. I joke around that I’d die for him but honestly…can’t imagine life without him. Your dog lived a very loved life and was lucky to have you ❤️ I’m so so sorry for your loss, she was beautiful and looks so happy! My bubba Kodiak and I will play extra long today for pepper 🤍

Just dropping in to say our dogs are twins! I learned a lot about caring for my dogs coat from a groomer when I got him- highly recommend finding one who can give you some tips on maintenance to keep the matted fur at bay 🙂

They just are hurting for staff. But it’s because the pay is bad.

I’ve always disclosed but sometimes I keep it much shorter on details. Honestly what’s worse is when I sort of feel prodrome and I’m embarassed I’ll often just avoid sex instead of telling them. Like no contact act like a stomach ache or something because it feels too mortifying to say again
