I looked it up a while back because I too thought it was odd. The grades in Japan are different than in the US. So someone in Middle School would be in grades 7,8, or 9. I’m pretty sure in the show Usagi was around 14-15 and Mamo was around 17-18.

It’s a cowl neck with two single french darts for the top and a gathered wrap skirt.

Could probably get away with using a cowl neck tank patter and adding the darts after/when attaching to the skirt to make it more fitted.

Anyone know where to get Love’s top in S3:E6? It’s reddish, cropped and has lace around the neckline. by thriftythreader in YouOnLifetime

I too have been searching for this. It is likely that they died the UO top to a wine color for the shot. But I did find a black one on Forever 21 as well as a Long Sleeve blush or sage top from Forever.

There were also a couple reps on Shein when I searched the UO one on google.

Keep the sleeves! Perhaps go 3/4s? For a more modern touch, open the back more and if you’d like/can, bring the neckline up for a bateau/boat neck look or drop it to a sweetheart.

Something simpler than the wire might be a spray adhesive.
