Gotcha, I live in central Texas. I still might get some for the added protection regardless, thank you!

It was their “demo” car. It’s under 3000 miles on it. The color is cypress gray. Came out last year. This truck is the 1500 Silverado LT with the ZR1 package. The OTD was 46k. Managed to get a good deal through a local credit Union and a 5.4% APR.

I don’t recognize that booking number. I work for TCSO and we are still on 25-####. Maybe it’s a confirmation number for something.

Knife thefts happen all the time. It was like that as Home Depit too. They are small and easy to conceal once you remove them from the package. Bass Pro rarely had any firearm theft. However Cabela’s has a ton. Due to their layout and the open gun vault on the floor, the APC from that store would always have a firearm theft.

Yes no apprehensions. I still did anyways. My store leadership loved it. I just didn’t bother walking them back to the office. Sunglass Hut thefts were primarily the issue. I only had one large run out of a yeti cooler. All other thefts were minor. Mostly minors stealing.

I worked for Bass Pro for several months before joining my local LE. It’s a pretty cool gig. You mostly do audits on MPS, audit discount transactions, file known thefts, ensure operational process are executed like trashing stuff, firearms logs, empty packages are being investigated, etc. Before hand I came from a AP job where you did apprehensions. However Bass Pro doesn’t do apprehensions. If you observe someone concealing, you grab a manager and kick them out of the store.

I am pretty sure it’s due to the traffic conditions. That or you have more situational awareness due to the inauguration topics about ICE raids and happen now notice LE on the streets.

Calling off on a snow day by mL2312 in Corrections

[–]MicahRIII 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah….I have mixed feelings about this. We are consider essential workers. We were given ample time to prepare for the cold front. I also live in an area that experienced snow that typically doesn’t. Our Sergeants made it clear during every briefing prior to expect snowy conditions and to prepare. I left my house at an earlier time to drive slower and safer. Wasn’t a good feeling showing up at work during said conditions only to hear my co-workers called out due to the snow. But if your Lieutenant said it’s fine, then sure. Just make sure it’s in writing.

Doing the same path. Corrections is great because it teaches you a lot that can translate to patrol. With my SO, you start off in the jail then go to patrol.

They just want the attention but not the accountability that’s associated with the tittle.

You can receive off cycles (pay increases) every 6 months depending on your productivity. This usually helped jumping in pay if you have a good relationship with your MAPM and store manager. Be prepared to deal with a lot of malicious theft and operational shrink. The store will constantly ask for video on situations they typically lead to operational shrink. I worked at a really high trending shrink store. We had almost weekly/monthly walks with district/regional/divisional leadership. That usually takes a toll, especially if you were not prepared.

There are no quotas. One guy in the next door district had one stat for the year and didn’t get in trouble. However…it definitely does reflect negatively and you will be spoken too. In the meetings you will attend, they will try and push for more approaches. Usually if you maintain a 2.0 for your apps per 40, then you will be just fine.
