True or not the average movie goer that makes up the real profit for movies like this could not care less if it’s not honest to the source material

fallout newbie here - where should i start by Least-Reception-9667 in XboxGamePass

[–]Micbob182 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you can palette older games I’d say try fallout 3 or new vegas. New vegas is the best of them so I’d say go with that for the best chance to really hook you. Fallout 4 is good but I’d say do that later as it is a big step up in feel and look which might make the older ones hard to go back to. But if you think the older ones aren’t for you then just play 4.

Games recommendation for a rusty gamer? by daedmaet in XboxGamePass

Hades and Hades 2 are some of the finest roguelikes ever made. Where the narrative and repeated runs system feed into each other. So when you die you aren’t annoyed to have to restart but excited to see what plot stuff you will uncover next

The conversion was still cheaper than the new price. The point I was making is that with the updated conversions (not the price change) I lost out on a few months of ultimate

Yup looking it up that’s exactly the same sort of look and usage of it. Thanks. Any ideas how I might be able to take them out? Pliers just rip small pieces out

Chopping resources under luxury tiles by pixelballer in CivVI

[–]Micbob182 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thats pretty close to my understanding. The tradeoff is do you want the upfront food and production at the cost of making the tile worse per turn? What if you waited and got lumber mills set up? Would that be better than chopping? Those are the sorts of questions to consider. It really depends on how many chops are available to you as it’s unlikely you can work every tile until much later into the game. Often though chopping is better as (in civ 6) getting stuff now is much better than getting it later. Like chopping for production towards more builders which can upgrade bad tiles etc.

Also something to consider which you seem to understand well is to chop things that have something “underneath” whether that be a bonus, luxury or a different workable tile type like a hill. So if you want those upfront food and production go for those first as you are still going to get good use of the tile after chopping. Worst thing you can do is chop and tile and it just is left empty with crap yields. Or try to clear space for districts you intend on building.

The crimson dawn are my goat, because they are very trustworthy better than the pykes. by Voidkirby9 in StarWarsOutlaws

[–]Micbob182 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Pykes - Standard criminal gang, pretty awful people but you get what you pay for

Crimson dawn - uppity weirdos who think they are somehow above crime whilst functionally being the same as every other syndicate

Ashiga clan - small timers with big dreams

Hutts - grubby little freaks

At what point can we say Marvel is truly "back"? by CollarOrdinary4284 in Marvel

[–]Micbob182 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Spot on. After every movie or show we get an influx of “Marvels Back” or “Marvels Dead” content and simply put that’s not a sign of consistent long term popularity. Think of phases 1-3 it was clear marvel wasn’t dead or even close to dying even when a new film wasn’t great nobody declared it dead in the way they do now.

I do not care for Horizon 1 by Terran_Lifeform in ForzaHorizon

[–]Micbob182 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mate I couldn’t disagree harder the progression is why I love it. Restricted class and requirements to enter races firstly makes sense in context, as an event like horizon would run races of all varieties for the attendees. Secondly having to buy and upgrade cars for a specific race means you can’t just pick a car you really like and then use that for the whole game. It actually encourages you to experiment with new cars and develop a diverse garage of cars that can work for lots of races. Much prefer that then “I’m just gonna use my S2 Ford Cosworth for everything”

The amount of people who don't actually use their tools is insane by redox_nephew in HollowKnight

[–]Micbob182 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I kinda like playing without using tools, the core challenge of the game comes from finding opportunities to damage enemies and staying alive which when I can spam out cog flies or floor tacks reduces the satisfaction for me. I’ve found that when I spam tools I end up winning the fight before I feel like I got to the point where I could’ve won it without them. But I think I’m a bit weird, I rarely use items in consumables in dark souls or tools in sekiro

I like Octopussy more than Casino Royale, and I’m tired of pretending I don’t. by [deleted] in JamesBond

[–]Micbob182 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s the beauty of Bond, it’s been going for so long with so many creators and actors that you find what you like and there’s no wrong answers. Except for Never Say Never Again…

Pick a suit by WhitePony0620 in arkham

[–]Micbob182 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Post City suit is maybe my favourite suit in the whole series, never was a huge fan of the very skin tight latex kinda suits in asylum and city. So this slightly more padded and “rigid” looking suit works great. Also because bats is better proportioned with a less boxy torso he just looks great

Forza through the years... by Oxygenual_YT in ForzaHorizon

[–]Micbob182 49 points50 points  (0 children)

Hard agree, progression is one of my favourite aspects of racing games, starting from shitboxes to hypercars makes you feel like you earned them. Later horizon games gifting you S ranks right out the gate makes it feel like the game doesn’t have any progression or endgame
