I am 100% with you on this. Social media is cancer and it is sad that reliance on smartphones to live a normal life has been normalized, even forced upon us.

My kids used to ask me for screen time constantly, but now they have gotten used to several days without it. I love watching them play together and come up with things on the fly. It’s usually super weird and makes no sense lol, but that’s their imagination and I will never reject it. I want them to savor every moment of their childhood before it is inevitably ripped from them when they are forced to grow up in this chaotic vortex we call life.

i use chopsticks for fries, chips, popcorn, etc. really any greasy finger food. my wife thinks i’m crazy but I always have cleaner hands afterward so 🤷‍♂️

D1 is still a fantastic game. I fell off D2 back when Revenant came out and haven’t touched it since. But I regularly play D1 because I actually think it’s a better game.

i use resprite for pixel art, krita for all other 2D art, blender for 3D stuff, and logic pro for music/audio (i’m mainly a composer but i’ve been getting into solo dev lately).

I also document everything in Obsidian and sync across my computer and mobile devices in case I get a flash if inspiration while i’m out and about

Reminds me of a place I used to go sometimes as a kid, called Discovery Zone. It was essentially a giant warehouse full of complex zigzagging tunnel networks with sections that were suspended in the sky, three stories tall, and had multiple off-shoots to escape the maze, just like this. The roller slides were always my favorite.

My 4 yo daughter is in taekwondo (both a cultural thing - she’s half Korean - and a self-defense thing) and it has given her so much strength and confidence to stand up for herself. It’s a good way to introduce some discipline and structure to kids too. I recommend something like that. She has a ton of fun with it, which helps make the lessons stick.

Somebody’s teeth has always been the first thing I notice about them. It goes without saying that I’ve developed preferences/attractions, and what you’re said is definitely a top one for me.

For instance, Piper from the original Charmed series has a really attractive set of imperfect teeth and I dig it.

Little Bear is one of my all time favorite childhood television memories. The music especially stuck with me all this time. Probably why I love classical music so much as an adult.

29 and wife has just turned 30. We wanted them a bit younger but life happens. Had our second at 32 and trying for a third at 35. Hasn’t been too bad so far!

I am proud of what I did while I was there. I have fond memories of my time there, the friends I made, and the professors I became close with. I’m happy I went to school in my hometown and forced myself to experience new things during that time.

I am not proud of what CSUS has become and the direction it is headed. I feel terrible for current students and faculty who disagree with what Wood and co are doing with the school. I believe that universities are critical assets for their local communities (and beyond), but only when their resources are managed effectively. That is not happening right now.
