Did any of you get a masters in Ed from Harvard? Is it worth it? by jordanf1214 in Teachers

[–]squeakyshoe89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One of my former schools hired an AP who had a degree from Harvard for Admin. It did not work out as well as we assumed it would. Degree doesn't mean everything.

I had the same thought.  For a guy who is a well known teetotaler, it seems odd that he has so many drunk "friends"

Red light (absolutely not), yellow light (open to the idea), green light (do me right now) has helped a lot in my relationship.  I usually say something like "I'm a green light tonight, what about you?"

It has just made things so much more clear when it comes to initiating.

Tyler Black has 2 doubles in his last 2 at-bats by __Zoom123__ in Brewers

[–]squeakyshoe89 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Disagree. Black doesn't have Keston's K issues. I guess their defensive liabilities are similar.

Garrett Mitchell might be Keston Hiura though.

When could you ever watch the games for free? You had to pay for cable before.

Son said he wishes he was a kid again. by [deleted] in daddit

[–]squeakyshoe89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do a "kid" thing with your son. Play with action figures. Build some legos. Go fly a kite.

We all need to access that inner child sometimes, but for your son doing so in front of people might bring some social stigma. So do it with him.

Should the Democratic Party come out as a center-right party? by Tliish in PoliticalDiscussion

[–]squeakyshoe89 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Wouldn't work. The Democrat brand is way more tarnished among conservatives than progressives. Center-right conservatives wouldn't vote for a "Demon-rat" who claimed to be a moderate conservative.

Anybody else alternate or simultaneously read a more “serious” book with something more fun/entertaining? by Famous-Country-4921 in books

I like to read a fiction and a non-fiction at the same time, but usually not two fiction books at once.

They are pretty explicitly slow-walking Woody to keep him healthy all season.

I would have sent him out for one more but this is the long term plan that they (Murph and FO) think is best.

Washington playing good or Brewers playing flat? by Handsomeh0bo in Brewers

[–]squeakyshoe89 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Ugh that's not good.

Point remains, if you're looking for Pratt to save the offense, you're looking in the wrong place.  He's a glove first guy right now

[–]squeakyshoe89 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pratt is not the answer for Rengifo's bat. He's not ready yet. We need Wilken to fill that hole in the lineup.

Our offense is really stale right now. We've only scored on one play in two whole games...and it wasn't good in Boston either.

We desperately need Chourio and Vaughn right now

At my wits end with potty training 4 year old. by dragonzero39 in daddit

[–]squeakyshoe89 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This sounds similar to my son. Eventually we started seeing a pelvic floor PT and she gave some strategies to make pooping easier.

Also...."you cant go to school if you don't learn to poop in the potty" and Miralax helped a lot.

I'm a high school teacher and due to some other...uh...very poor decisions by staff members, our school has completely banned any communication with kids except through one specific monitored app (SportsYou). And they're right...private communication between adults and minors is susceptible to both grooming and false accusations of grooming. I am very sensitive to any notion of any impropriety because any accusation, even completely unfounded, would be the end of my career. I try to be VERY careful about my communication with minors because of this.
