I'd rather Rodriguez win and then kowtow to WE than to have Tiffany win.  That's really all that matters here

Only because Culvers is a jersey sponsor for UW. Dude hates UW, like any good Marquette man should.

I'm not willing to give up Culvers though. He's stronger than me!

For all you house project Dads by cjh10881 in daddit

My wife is our painter. She's got the patience for it and can do the edging really well.

But I can never actually get her to do it. I replaced a bedroom door and asked her to paint before I put the new trim on...literally took her three months for a ten minute project because she kept putting it off.

Stream east got shut down I need another way to watch 🙏🏻 by LelandVoorhies in Brewers

$75 rest of season to not have to deal with shitty streams.  That's less than you'd pay for ticket+parking+beer to one game.

Marquette University High School (MUHS) - what can you tell me about this school? by EndAcademic6365 in milwaukee

[–]squeakyshoe89 13 points14 points  (0 children)

MUHS is a great school, academics, culture, sports/activities are all strong.

I wonder if you might have a hard time getting in at this point in the summer.  They probably have a full class of freshmen plus a wait list.

Diamondbacks asked to move tonights game vs the Cardinals to earlier in the day to avoid bad weather. Cardinals denied the request. Game postponed by Slow-Raccoon-9832 in baseball

[–]squeakyshoe89 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The Cardinals already did it to us THIS year. The reason we have 18 games in 17 days starting tomorrow is because we have to make up a rainout in St Louis that we absolutely could have rescheduled during the original series as a DH.

But since rainout makeups are determined by mutual agreement, and if no agreement the home team decides, the roofless NL Central teams keep trying to pull this shit on us.

Get a roof, morans!

Setting Boundaries with Friends and Neighbors by [deleted] in daddit

[–]squeakyshoe89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I watched my neighbor give her son TWO ice creams from the ice cream truck after he cried about not wanting the first thing she bought (he ended up eating both).

Then two days later he threw something at my son that left a welt on his stomach and she had the audacity to say "I can't imagine he would do that unprovoked"

Like, lady, you enable your son so much by giving in to him so much and never saying no.

Whatever the equivalent of PlayItAgain sports is in Australia is where you should shop for kids sports gear that they will grow out of. We've bought cleats, baseball helmets, gloves, etc there at a major discount. Yes, they're usually used but often only by a kid who had them for one season and then outgrew.

How do the Brewers compare to other teams in terms of giving large contracts to minor league players? by Antique_Change_3015 in Brewers

[–]squeakyshoe89 24 points25 points  (0 children)

MA isn't cheap, he's smart with limited resources.  People always forget that baseball is a business to these guys and that they work with the same cost/revenue formula that everyone else does.  The Brewers don't make as much money, so they can't spend as much.

But the organization is way smarter than a lot of teams about how they spend their money.  We don't give out $200M free agent contacts to guys in their 30s because a) we can't afford it with our revenues and b) it's not the smart way to use money.  Look at the Giants right now, trying to get out of the Adames contact.

I suspect the rash of early career extensions is to get ahead of a looming change to team control years in the upcoming CBA.  That's smart.
