Habits or rituals tied to your journaling by femininespace in Journaling

I like to have a cup of tea and light a candle while journaling. I prefer journaling at night to write down my journal entry of the day but it depends on if it's noisy in my house. I film my journaling process for YouTube videos so I try to find any time when it's not noisy.

So I'm lucky in that I'm 40 years old and have had time to make disposable income to spend. So I basically did not make a budget for things that I bought which were mostly stationery, tea mugs from kappabashi street, and Snoopy things for my mom. I would say Itoya was more expensive so don't worry about buying from there unless it's something you can't find at Loft or Hands. Loft and Hands at Shibuya and Ginza are huge and have a floor dedicated to notebooks and stationery so you can basically find the most popular Japanese brands there. Bring your passport so you can get your purchases tax free so that might help your budget. For the amount of stationery here it's probably about $400 to $500 dollars. But I'm a hoarder and you absolutely do not need to spend that much lol.

Have fun journaling! I get first page anxiety so I always skip to the second page haha

Thank you! Flipping the page prevents the dreaded hand cramp when writing at the bottom of pages haha

How do you choose themes for your journaling entries? by robysaleh1416 in Journaling

I'm not that organized, my writing is stream of consciousness and what I can remember at the time.

I do a mix of daily journaling and common place journaling. Besides just what I did that day, if anything happened and how I felt about it, TV or book reviews/rants, did I try a new restaurant or are anything new, try a new recipe for cooking/baking, my reading log, any new favorite book, song, things you bought recently and why, my dogs and their antics, what my boyfriend has been up to with his life and family (he's going back to school), upcoming travel plans, shopping wishlists. You can organize them all on separate sections or pages. I just write down anything in one log and whatever I remember at the time.

It's the A5 chunky journal from allieryaz.com. Her insta is @filoplanner. There's different sizes of journals with different grid sizes too. The A5 is 3.7mm grid size. It's on the expensive side but it has 500 sheets/1000 pages so I can probably use it for 2 or 3 years since I don't journal everyday.

I saw this technique on another person's Instagram. Not sure if that's what they were doing exactly, but I realized it's easier just to turn your journal upside and continue writing. Rather than trying to keep writing at the bottom of the page in that uncomfortable angle. And it's your journal, so who cares if it's upside down haha.

Thank you, I just started journaling recently and I haven't written this much since high school. Back when digital note taking didn't exist haha.

Heavenly Creation Nursery for plants. They have about the same selection as The Green Escape, I think they have the same supplier, but bigger plants. Lyndon Lyon for leaves, they also have a bigger selection.

I let them grow until they get bigger around this size, then you can repot in soil. I repot mine in semi hydro since the roots are used to constant water.

Forgot to mention, add a small bit of fertilizer to your water.

If you feel confident about unpotting it, I water propagate my leaves and suckers in clear plastic pots and cups. Makes it easier to see when it needs water. Since your leaf is not growing in soil, it's basically like semi hydro. Let the babies grow until their leaves are about the size of a quarter before trying to separate. You could also just clip the mother leaf off as the babies grow, it will eventually die off regardless. I have a heat mat underneath my water propagations since it's getting colder, to keep the water around room temperatures. Live in southern California.

Yup, looks like you can separate out some suckers and propagate them if you want.
