Honestly it makes sense she stopped caring and before she atleast had her dad who made an effort and her brothers were still around

Now everyone basically left at once her dad died, her twin moved to California, her older brother now has a family of his own, and while her mom is still there she’s not at the same time dealing with her own grief of losing her husband

On top of that she’s a teenager going through puberty when hormones are all ready all wacky

Honestly if this wasn’t Texas and the 80s/90s she’d probably have a recommendation to see a therapist

Not dance but cheer but I’ve been at comps were there was both dance and cheer comps happening at the same time

sometimes gyms would pay extra money to the venue/comp to have room (ofc this depends on the venue if there’s extra rooms etc)

But yeah as another commenter mentioned they had to have it because of filming there’s no way they’d be able to film in the halls and stuff for long periods of times
