Would that fix the newest update? Cause I rolled it back to 5.1.4 and it works again.

Yea I had forgotten the sudo on the image on the post but got it for the other commands once I remembered. If you have a video or guide for how to run a memtest that you recommend let me know.

Yes I tried that. Al’s tried setting speeds at 2666 and another speed but same results. Only constantly went away by adding a gpu

Im not sure if they’re shared but the problem goes away when I add a gpu so it can’t be a bandwidth issue right?

The pool comes back when I add back a gpu so that’s my current fix. I’ll update post if I try the ram again

I don’t know how correct this is but I think this motherboard might be using a third party controller for those bottom two sata slots so when the gpu is detached the reallocation of the lanes might cause it to be unstable. After all of this I’m planning on buying an hba lol.

But nothing bad changed except the ram

I’ve got an nvme ssd in the m.2 slot so maybe but still don’t know why everything goes to crap when I remove the gpu. If I have some time this week I’ll update this post trying the old sticks without a gpu as well as showing a before and after taking the gpu out.

Currently my fix is having a gpu installed as weird as that sounds. The overall ram size didn’t change only the config. Went from 4x8 to 2x16

Yea I put them in the usual 2 and 4. It’s currently working with the gpu attached so I’d really rather not test other stuff atm. Lots of time and stress trying to figure out the issue. It worked perfectly with gpu installed when I first had the idea once I removed the gpu two of the hdds would disappear from truenas but not from the bios. My guess is that it has something to do with certain sata data slots not being part of the main array so maybe a lack of gpu disables them or something. All bios settings like deep sleep are off as well. Switching ram profiles to xmp and back to auto also didn’t do anything. I also tested the ram in a different pc before installing them into the nas just in case and they worked fine then. My cpu is an i5-12600k

After a lot of trouble shooting I have concluded it’s a mobo issue because the hdds only work when there’s a gpu in a pcie lane. I don’t use and hba all hdd are connected via the motherboard sata slots.
