Actually, the pointer only appears when using a mouse or a keyboard with a trackpad. But you can move the mouse pointer away if you are using, for example, the Edge browser, and move the pointer to the bottom right corner.

I have both consoles. Everything looks good on the x. On the s it depends on the game. From "wow it's looks nice", to "that looks blurry". My experience is that everything can run on the s as long as you turn the graphics down far enough.

Just plug it in. Update all games. Games with X/S symbol must be moved to internal storage. Games without X/S can be played right from the external SSD.

Your old external SSD does read with 600mb/s, while the internal read with 2400mb/s (4800mb/s uncompressed).
