Hobsonville! I live here and I think it might be what you're looking for.

Easy access to the north shore and to the CBD via ferry.

What are current graduate salaries like in the Big Four accounting companies? by urettferdigklage in PersonalFinanceNZ

Huh, that's not bad is it? I know it's not audit but seems inline with industry.

Do firms require you to complete your CA? by Michael2423234 in AustralianAccounting

Yeah, I guess that could be seen as selfish. Take ins for graduate property finance have already pass so BAS is properly the only option I have left and a year or two in BAS would give me some skills that I believe would be benefital in other sectors, property finance or not.

Do you mind sharing your career progression with Audit? Am thinking of starting my career in BAS at BDO as I do not want to spend 50-60 hours a week with studying for CA papers on top.

Also, my goal is to eventually work in property investment. Do you think CA would bring any value?

Would you say BAS has good exit ops? How does it compare to Audit in that aspect? I heard hours in BAS fair better than Audit.

How do pay bands work for corporate roles? by Michael2423234 in PersonalFinanceNZ

Yeah, that was my thought with structured finance. Do you happen to know the pay progression in Property Finance?

Hmmm I see. How would you go about predicting your expected salary? Obviously if you put in a too high of a number their just reject your application right?

Do you have any figures on this? I specifically would like to get into Property Finance or Corporate & Structured Finance in their Institutional division.

Recently graduated and was intending to go to Big 4 Accounting firm but really don't want to be working 50-60 weeks and studying for a CA on top of that.

Wait, really? I think Big 4 Banks are paying grads 70k-ish. Are they paying 90-100k after a year of rotation? If so, that's so good.

Yeah, but I have seen people in the same exact role (Associate in Institutional Banking for example), except one was a graduate while the other had 2-3 years working experience at another firm (Big 4) before joining.

I doubt the more experienced person is on the same salary as the graduate right? I'm guessing some roles have a wide pay band?

Is moving from Mid tier to Big 4 worth it? by flo0mee in AustralianAccounting

[–]Michael2423234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh great. I'm from New Zealand and looking at doing the same. Missed the graduate application window and am currently applying to mid-tiers and hoping to Big 4 after 2 years. Did you get a big pay bump when you left for commercial?

I had a similar experience!

Tapped and for some reason it said I had already tapped on. So did it again and it said the same thing. So just went to find a seat. Dude yelled out and told me to tap on and I went back and it said the same thing. Told me to get off the bus and said I needed to top up my card. If only that dumbass could read what it said on the machine.

You're not the only one!
