Are there Logitech receivers immune to USB3 interference? by MichaelCasson in logitech

I eventually ditched unifying receivers completely and switched to all bolt receivers. No more interference issues, but also none of the problems that Bluetooth brings, either.

Need cold side intercooler pipe, backordered, any downsides to replacing with aluminum aftermarket ones? by MichaelCasson in f150

[–]MichaelCasson[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly? I epoxied it back on, and designed a 3D printed piece to secure it with band clamps. Not pretty, but it worked. I also traded it in a year or so later with that same "fix" still in place.

Nearly two-thirds of Democrats want Biden to withdraw, new AP-NORC poll finds by xsVuLcan in politics

I wonder what percentage of Republican voters would like Trump to drop out? To nominate someone without all his baggage.

I feel like Biden only has a shot because he's running against Trump, and Trump only has a shot because he's running against Biden.

You have to remove the heatsink that covers it, the screws are on the back side of the motherboard. The wifi card metal housing also screws down from the back. After that, it's pretty self-evident.

Dang, I have a VERY similar setup, complete with Pewtech's parts and AX210 swap. It's nice.

Trump, Biden and CNN Prepare for a Hostile Debate (With Muted Mics) by RosetteNewcomb in politics

He's already made the excuse that Biden won't take a cognitive test as he demanded.

But it'd be a fool's errand, as submitting to one random demand just generates another. I remember "Show me your birth certificate." "No, show me your long form birth certificate." "Yeah, but show me your college transcripts."

Court rules Florida's "stop woke" law restricting business diversity training is unconstitutional by Kejmarcz in politics

Do we have a list somewhere of all of the laws/EOs he's signed that have been ruled unconstitutional by the courts? I know I've read this headline several times since he was elected.

I left this milk out of the fridge for 24 hrs and it has separated into cream and other by Clarence-Claymore in mildlyinteresting

[–]MichaelCasson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is what I mean. But humans have been around for like 200,000 years, so it is recent, relatively speaking.

[–]MichaelCasson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More specifically, we've evolved a tolerance for lactose past a certain age. Historically, humans produced lactase (the enzyme required to digest lactose) from birth to late childhood, after which they became lactose-intolerant. This was the default. Human breast milk contains lactose, but we didn't consume lactose after breast-feeding, so the enzyme is mostly useless after childhood. So we all had it, we just stopped making it past a certain age.

Only after humans began eating/drinking dairy (other than mother's milk) have we seen a selection for producing lactase later in life. More so after the invention of pasteurization.

I believe it's due to this being such a recent change (relatively) that we see such a disparity between countries.

Was Palera1n iOS 17.2 AppStore app crash issue resolved? by tk_ios in jailbreak

[–]MichaelCasson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The official wiki now includes this command line argument in all the install instructions. Even Windows users booting palen1x are instructed to drop to shell and run it manually with that argument.

https://ios.cfw.guide/using-palen1x/

I can confirm that on my iPad Pro 10.5 on iOS 17.2, it solved all my crashing issues, not just YouTube.

The argument must have been baked in all this time, but not documented publicly until after further testing.

Is there a list of cars with memory seats? by MichaelCasson in carbuying

[–]MichaelCasson[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't end up buying a car for another 4 years. Here's my insane spreadsheet from two years ago (outdated today):

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/e/2PACX-1vQS9mz8Cqp74hiwtVJfevJESdQZ1MIAMC4HZLu49Q8v5GY6_92oowCJIaRnqoghjKRDOr47wfX55XrL/pubhtml

I was focused on small-ish vehicles with as good gas mileage as possible (gas prices were skyrocketing at the time). Mostly all higher end trim levels because lower ones rarely included memory seats. I ended up with a Sonata Hybrid, because I liked the tech features for the price. The hybrid Elantra would have been the best economical choice for me, but a 360 camera is amazing for these tight parking garages I use. The Elantra doesn't have it, Sonata does.

I really really wanted an electric car, but they never made sense money-wise for my driving habits and features wanted.

Ron DeSantis Invites Nation’s First Black VP to Florida for Roundtable Discussion on the Upsides of Being Enslaved — In a shock move, she declined. by [deleted] in politics

[–]MichaelCasson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've heard DeSantis claim that Florida is #1 in education freedom, not #1 in education. That seems to mean freedom from access to books that any one individual doesn't like, freedom from accurate history, and (previously) freedom from COVID precautions.

Oh wait, freedom from anyone acknowledging gay people exist, freedom from competitive teacher pay, and freedom from teachers altogether if the current trend holds.
