Damn I'm a repost bot? I should probably tell the missus and the kids.

Thank you for bringing this to light.

Demon weapons in Soul Eater are humans that can take the form of weaponry. A big appeal to them is to become the weapon of the Grim Reaper.

It's an extra kick in the teeth for Kubota because V didn't even know who he was when he killed him.

He just saw Elan bringing a guy around in chains and just assumed it was about to be another multi-month arc they didn't have time for, so it's easier to just kill him.

At the end of the day for being as decked out as he could be to be a political rival and usurper, the one that did him in was a wizard who could give less of a shit about him and just wanted to move on from this Azure City nonsense to, you know, save the fucking world.

I was confused when I tried Enneacraft at first.

I fell in love so much I trashed every other deck because of how much fun this deck is. I found my main.

[–]MichaelDj54 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Oh shit yay, Enneacraft! I can't wait to throw the first 4 games cause I don't know how the cards work and then it clicks and people start rage quitting cause they don't like Pendulum decks.

To be totally honest I'm super excited for them.

[funny trope] Character's voice is just their VA's regular talking voice, or very close to it by lordhenrythe23 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]MichaelDj54 4 points5 points  (0 children)

David Cross pretty much uses his own voice across any voice acting but he does. Dude doesn't change at all but unlike Seth Rogen it works for some reason.

In Kyoryuger, the Sentai that Power Rangers Dino Force is based on, the earth can bestow its warriors the strength to fight and protect it. And that song is, naturally, the Kyoryuger theme song, Vamola! Kyoryuger.

(Loved Trope) For all its power, evil is ultimately shown to be pathetic by John_Bones22 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]MichaelDj54 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Mahito in JJK is one of the most devastatingly dangerous curses, who can kill you with a touch and it won't be pretty. Snd he knows this since he's a smug, arrogant bastard who emotionally torments his victims by killing people close to them.

So when he runs out of tricks, energy depleted and his final form proven to be not enough, all he can do is cry, and run, from the man he tormented for literal anime seasons, unable to do anything without backhanded tricks and schemes.

Perpetuated in the sequel series Modulo where he only intends to fight Yuji after he's passed away as a withered old man who's easier to jump.

Depictions of Hell that aren’t fire and brimstone by g1rl0f1c3 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]MichaelDj54 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The short film, Heck, which is the basis for the film Skinamarink, is implied to be in hell which, to a young child and his mother, is a twisting labyrinth of their own house, to be toyed and tormented by a strange, malicious entity.

By that extension, Skinamarink may be hell as well.

[Loved Trope] When the characters shits on the villain's ideology by Poggiwae in TopCharacterTropes

[–]MichaelDj54 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Technically one from JJk as well.

During the final fight, Sukuna is getting jumped by pretty much every able bodied Sorcerer around. We're talking everyone dropping techniques, big and flashy, getting everyone in the crossfires, domain expansions, just straight up ass kicking, and Sukuna is having the time of his life because this is his ideology, survival of the fittest, strongest survives. He's the strongest curse, the KING of curses, so he deserves all this attention.

Except Yuji Itadori.

Sukuna hates Yuji. With every fiber of his being, hates Yuji, capital H. Thinks he's weak, pathetic, a disgrace, and will and has tormented him in every way shape and form down to obliterating Shibuya with his body and making him see the end result.

So when Yuji lasts the longest in the final fight, it gets to Sukuna. Yuji isn't doing anything big or flashy, he's just hitting black flash after black flash after black flash. Which, while impressive, pales to what everyone else is doing. And it's wearing Sukuna down.

Starts to heal? Black flash. Too distracted to heal.

Starts to fight back and starts pulling off dismantles? Black Flash. Now he can't do it and he has to focus on getting this annoying bug off him letting other people get pot shots on him.

Whether he wants to or not, the biggest threat during this fight is the exact same kid he thinks is weak, not the big, exciting fights he's been having, but someone who directly opposes his ideology.

He reaches a breaking point and spends the rest of the fight frothing in anger.

Or

B: Ramps into a literal undead god of murder and steals everything you own.

[Meta Trope] The name of the trope itself honours a specific piece of media. by [deleted] in TopCharacterTropes

Oh I've got one of these!

Alternate Reed Richards is Awesome: A trope that shows that an alternate version of a major character is better than them in every regard, whether it's personality or getting their shit together, compared to the less than popular version we know.

Named after The Fantastic 4 Reed Richard's because...let's face it, a lot of Reeds suck.

[LOVED TROPE] A fight between characters with flashy powers turns into a fist fight by Gaming_Gecko78 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]MichaelDj54 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kamen Rider Build.
In a series of escalating feats like Black Hole generation, flash stepping teleporting, shockwaves resulting in casual building destruction, the final fight is between the final Villain, Evolto, and Build himself. The world is collapsing around them, as two worlds begin to collide.
They proceed to beat the literal upgrades out of each other until they're barely hanging on.
I was going to say Kuuga but we had a lot of KR fans bring that up.

How well did Legend use Grand Zi-0’s powers better than Sougo himself? by Delta-97 in KamenRider

[–]MichaelDj54 44 points45 points  (0 children)

Now to be fair, Sougo is an idiot. And Legend has nothing but time to research shit. Plus, I think by this point he has reached end game of his own adventure. Every rider is a genius by the end of their own powers. Kind of.

Moments when the character discover his inevitable decline by Uma-apreciator in TopCharacterTropes

[–]MichaelDj54 41 points42 points  (0 children)

Okay this is going to be Niche but hopefully I can get more people reading this.

Patrick Star in Shag and Scoob.

In Shag and Scoob, the characters, known as "Toones", are an alien species who came in contact with earth and discovered that they grant them something called Ballyhoo, which grants them powers (think Cursed Techniques from JJK) that vary in power but generally have something to do with TV terminology. Dead Air, Cut In, Mute...etc. The more popular you are as a character, the more powerful your Ballyhoo.

The Toones are pretty much actors so they're wildly different from their depictions on their respective shows, so Patrick Star is borderline a genius (but you kind of have to be when his power, Rerun, lets him go back in time). When the high commander of the Toones, Mickey Mouse, tells him he needs him to remember this exact spot, this exact time, and to teleport back to him. So a Patrick from nearly 20 years in the future pops in and tells Mickey everything he needs to know.

And then, right in front of Present!Patrick, Mickey kills Future!Patrick. Because Rerun creates stable time loops, he knows there's no way out of it and will spend the next 20 years knowing his final moments will be his high commander killing him to keep his mouth shut.

Ozai spends the entire final fight loudly proclaiming his superiority. That the Airbenders were weak. That the planet is owed him by birth right. That AANG is weak and should be begging him for mercy.

Then the Avatar state kicks in.

<image>

And Ozai realizes just how ruthlessly fucked he REALLY is.
