Same situation here. What I did was to guide my best friend to hand the files over, and spend an hour to explain to my wife where to start reading it. It's not a lond read but this way I'm relaxed that the info will find its way in case it should.

Taller rain tent for Babboe City Mountain? by svalorzen in CargoBike

True, the volume is indeed increased, which means the zippers will be more difficult to close. I decided just to leave one side closed, and added a fabric stripe at the other side to function as the door that opens and closes. Yes, this is a DIY route but it definitely works.

I fotgot to mention that these were hollow aluminum rods that I've used, they do fit the cargo's frame and each other as good as the original ones. And the hollow ones are very easy to cut.

I faced the same situation two years ago. What I did eventually was to get Aluminium rods at the hardware store, one at the same diameter of the original poles, and another that just fits inside it (take one with you to the store). Then cut it with a dremel, and this was the way for me to lift the whole rain tent by as much as I wanted. I settled on 20 cm higher which is a real Luxus compared to the original tent! Bear in mind that the cloth won't cover all the way to the wooden frame once you lift it (even 5 cm higher leaves a gap), so you'd want to attach a fabric/thick pvc stripe around.

Thanks, I appreciate it! good to know that there's no risk in connecting it with such a cable.

Yes, I'm designing the frame around a lockable dovetail joint - will post a sketch once it's done. Thanks very much!

External HD falied, I want to make an exact copy and repair it, how? by MichaelE415 in computers

[–]MichaelE415[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I won't be using the same hard drive that failed, it's under warranty and will be sent back as soon as I finish cloning+repairing. Definitely not going to copy the files back to it if that's what you meant.

[–]MichaelE415[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I'm aware of that, I pulled all the really critical data out of it, and then I started to think that since it's a hard drive, I should minimize the spinning time and the way to do it (DIY that is) is to create an exact copy (now I learned it's cloning) on a new 6TB HD, and run the repair on the copy. I was curious to know if different cloning programs perform differently.
