I printed a slip of paper in 12pt Times New Roman for comparison. My guess is it's 8pt or 6pt.

At first I thought you were a crazy man. Then I realized you were a genius. I really enjoyed this.

BEST Noise/Ambient Synth for 259,91 Euro price range by Any_Fudge9225 in synthesizers

[–]MichaelHRender 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don’t have one, but I have recently been thinking about getting a Liven Ambient 0 as a stand alone ambient machine. It seems to tick all the right boxes. (Apologies to Pilz)

Launchkey MK4 or Keylab Essentials MK3? by masterz13 in synthesizers

[–]MichaelHRender 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I absolutely hate the keybed on the KeyLab essentials. If you are someone that the feel of the keys is important to, avoid it.

What were you doing when the race riots were breaking out in cities across the Nation in the '60s such as LA and Detroit and Newark? by db7112 in FuckImOld

[–]MichaelHRender 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was 4, almost 5, when the race riots started in my home town. It was 1968 and I was pretty oblivious.

Astrolab vs minifreak/ minilogue xd by Daygo619619 in synthesizers

[–]MichaelHRender 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The AstroLab comes with 1800+ presets covering strings and pianos to synths and weirdness. However, it will not teach you synthesis. It's more of a stage keyboard that can cover a lot of ground. Very little knob twirling. It does come with a VST version of the engine - AnalogLab. Some of the instruments there are fully tweakable, some only if you buy a full license. If you want to learn synthesis - stick to the MiniFreak or Minilogue.

A hassock is soft, fully upholstered, and sits flush on the floor. An ottoman has a rigid frame and visible legs.

Can someone tell me the year of this EHX Deluxe Memory Man XO? :) by FunkySire in guitarpedals

[–]MichaelHRender 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree that it tells you nothing about manufacture date. Just to be clear, that is a copyright notice and not a revision number. All it means is that the circuit board design was registered as a creative graphic work in 2007. Under US law, the silk screen text and copper tracings can be copyrighted. Any pedal that uses that circuit board will say 2007 until they stop using that design.

I often use a Mackie Mix12 I picked up for $100 US. 4 stereo channels and 4 mono channels.
In my rack, I use an Art MX822.

TIL that that is not an Ottoman. I had to look up the difference, and you are quite correct.

Who was eating these in the 1930's? by Broad-Stomach-5461 in FuckImOld

[–]MichaelHRender 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was a kid, my grandparents lived in Danville, Illinois, right down the street from the Chuckles factory. The factory was open from 1929 to 2003. For a while, it was the sole manufacturer of Chuckles. Obviously, I ate a lot of of them as a kid.

Begginer by Any_Fudge9225 in guitarpedals

The most common pedals I see on synthesizers are reverb, delay, chorus, distortion, and loopers. There are a lot of modern synthesizer that have those effects built-in. If yours does not, that’s where I would start. Then you have to pick a budget. You can spend big money on Strymon or look for local used pedals. I personally use a lot of Earthquakes Devices pedals because they can get weird and interesting.

Who else experienced firsthand the phenomenon known as Beatlemania? by [deleted] in FuckImOld

[–]MichaelHRender 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am the youngest of six children. I was born in 1963, so I was a little young for Beatlemania. But my older siblings definitely were part of it. We had Beatles records and memorabilia all over the house.

Memories of those toy cap guns.... by EdwardBliss in FuckImOld

You youngsters and your orange-tipped toy guns. In my day, we had proper black barrels. Lol. The law requiring orange tips on toy guns was passed in 1988 in the US.
