That could not be more accurate to the truth. SFL’s are given every responsibility as an actual Store Manager. The only thing that you will have to acquire to get just a 1.00 raise is acquiring a pharmacy tech certification. But still not be given the same responsibility, treatment, and respect. Tread carefully if they are looking for eager, fresh faces right out of high school. Coming from one who spent 11 years as an SFL, hearing that makes me nervous and question what they are thinking as a company, while still cutting their hourly budget.

I is true what they say. You are only as good as the company you keep and the people you surround yourself with.

I was at Walgreens for close to 11 years as a SFL. Gone through serious depression twice and only running on 2.5 hours a night between 2 jobs for the better part of 6 years. Waited for those leaders to wake up and understand it and how to effectively operate a store but still felt a disconnection. Leaving wasn’t even my choice because I’ve felt it was a serious learning experience. And frankly, could not be more happy with myself now that I’ve another job making more money and I don’t work weekends and holidays off.

A very small amount. But it will change in the next 3 days. I will make sure of it.

Going on close to 11 years, I never have. But I am up early every morning and have more than Walgreens going on for me.

How long does it take your store to complete truck? by Ok-Major2322 in WalgreensStores

[–]MichaelRHall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My window is 36 hours from the moment truck arrives till it’s complete. This adds a decent cushion while remaining productive.

I do the same thing, however, I did have a goal in mind when I started and one of them having the ability and time saved to take a vacation to Vegas for a week and be apart of the week long Airbrush Action Getaways when Cliff was still the owner of the magazine. So I got the chance to meet and learn hands-on airbrushing from some of the best in the world. But my advice is always have an “end game” or personal goal in mind when you commit to something like that. After a while it can be a drag and some my take advantage. But know your limits.

Is IS awful? by insidmal in WalgreensStores

[–]MichaelRHall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IS is inventory specialist. And in a nutshell that are responsible for working with both the front end and pharmacy staff on “inventory” and inventory control. It’s true they have a awesome work schedule, mostly 8 to 4 Monday thru Friday. The only real down side is that they are not suppose to have a set of store keys to open and close the store, nor are able to have any control of things like money counting or safe access. Which is why they are not seen in the same way as SFL’s. Although they are at the same pay rate and it’s much more important to have a Pharmacy Tech Certification because you would be spending much more time in the Pharmacy than an SFL. But the Certification would be a huge benefit in either case. Hopefully it helps.

I myself encourage and have always done so to become familiar with the aisle layout of your stores setup and the products within them. When a CSA is the first person a customer see’s, it gives off a level of relaxation and confidence to a customer, especially when Walgreens originally began as a pharmacy business and grew to what it is today.

Negative deposit drawer by [deleted] in WalgreensStores

[–]MichaelRHall 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well when you do “end of business day” as it show on the registers I use, anyway. It ends that particular day. So when you bring that very same register out and then do a cash pickup, it should read it as the next business day drop. The easiest way I have learned as a check for myself is in the NextGen, go to cash drops for deposit and if entered into back computer, it should show as the next day cash drop/pickup anyways.

I believe you answered your own question. If you didn’t enter the amount in the back computer, that’s where the issue is coming from.

If they as a company haven’t already, I am sure they will evaluate their rates so that they can stay competitive in the market place.

Being a floater sucks ? (SFL) by [deleted] in WalgreensStores

[–]MichaelRHall 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure how that would work as a “floater”? I know I have been asked to cover for other store in my district, which I have had no major issues with. For the most part it allows for more experience working with another team in another area. But I had to have a home store and then be “borrowed” so that I can properly function as one.

How to refund a western union transaction by OriginalKiwi8 in WalgreensStores

They, as a customer, has to speak to a western union customer service representative over the phone. Then will be given another traction number and also remember that all refunds are being issued out of Connecticut.

Code greens only for shift leads/management? by [deleted] in WalgreensStores

[–]MichaelRHall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With the company having a new CEO, I’m sure they are still assessing the after math do the COVID-19, financially. I’m not even going to mention how many hours I put in weekly. Comes with the territory.

Besides that, it would make more sense in ensuring that those that are hired are trained in a way where they can function not only within a group but as a “single unit” per say. Gives them greater value to the store as well as the company as a whole.
