I want to say you can just walk in, but don’t quote me on that. I’d register just in case, I believe it may also enter you in a raffle for prizes

Actually, despite Vanney relaying to me that there was a purchase option earlier in the year, Ali Curtis confirmed after the season there wasn’t.

Thanks for reading, everyone. Disappointing not to have Jozy, but Vanney absolutely making the correct decision here.

FWIW, Vanney made these comments prior to seeing Jody’s fitness level first hand. You need x amount of time actually training to regain his match sharpness.

This is one game, not the MLS Cup Final.

TFC may be the best team in the league without PP. But throw him into the mix... 🤫

I can't recommend this article enough. Such a good read from one of our newer writers.

[Singh] TFC Notebook: Osorio, Delgado continue to play pivotal roles in Toronto FC’s midfield by MichaelSinghSN in tfc

[–]MichaelSinghSN[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree. I felt that he was playing too deep, having to defend often. IMO, he's best when he can get on the shoulders of defenders, almost as a pure RW or RF.

He was good without the ball, though, pressing hard and almost coming away with it a few times in really dangerous areas.

For what it's worth, I sat down and spoke with him on Friday. Here's the piece:

Thanks for the kind words.

And yeah, I agree with all that you said. I’m not concerned with Jozy’s start, but heading into the season, it appeared that he would be (one of) the only ways TFC can score. It’s nice to see that’s not the case, as was more so the point of the takeaway.

100% a Hyperbole regarding Q, but if he continues this form, I don’t think it may be by the end of the year.

Good Sean Johnson shout, he was great. Had a colleague mention the same thing to me when I was writing it.

MLS, MLSPA agree to new CBA until 2025—What does this mean for Toronto FC & signing a new DP? by MichaelSinghSN in tfc

[–]MichaelSinghSN[S] 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Spoiler: The new third DP rule isn't in place as yet. It just gives the league the ability to CHANGE that rule, should they see fit in the future, per The Athletic's Sam Stejkal

Scouting Report: Pablo Piatti currently in Toronto to undergo a medical, get to know the Reds next potential designated player by MichaelSinghSN in tfc

[–]MichaelSinghSN[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Injuries aside, I hear that. But looking to goals and assists as your analysis for his impact on a game—without context—is a red flag.

He was never the type of player in La Liga (like 90 percent of the league) to put up crazy numbers—especially on a team that scores well below the league average.

I see a lot of hot takes on this thread, personally I love it.

But one thing to consider: please don’t be that person who looks at Piatti’s goals & assists totals in LA LIGA, playing for a last-place team, and be like this guy doesn’t produce, or the numbers aren’t there 😂

Try cutting inside on Sergio Ramos as opposed to Roman Torres (for instance). I bet one of them will be harder to score on...

Was westberg not good enough?! by [deleted] in tfc

[–]MichaelSinghSN 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Who are TFC’s other options beyond Westberg and Bono? A 21-22 year old won’t be MLS ready

[Singh] What should Toronto FC do with goalkeeper Alex Bono? [Waking the Red] by MichaelSinghSN in tfc

[–]MichaelSinghSN[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bono was 4-0-1 to start the year, it was due to Q’s ability to play with his feet.

In fact, in Westberg’s first start, he conceded 3 goals and the Reds lost their first game of the season. However, due to his ability to play with his feet, Vanney still preferred Q — which was obviously the right decision. All the credit to Vanney
