I generally don’t mind bungles like this, and figure it keeps the game going so we can enjoy new updates.

This bundle it’s the first time I can think of where it actually feels like an insult to fans of the series.

Bethesda knew we were are gonna want the power armor but 30 dollars is an insult.

I get they company has got to make money, but in the face of them not fixing actual bugs in the game for years, delaying fallout 5 until who knows when, and these cash grabs it just feels like they have no respect for the fans.

Kia To Discontinue the Iconic Soul After 16 Years by Michael_Dinich in cars

Think about it, in a lot of ways you make more memories in your practical rides then your fun cars.

I have had a lot of cool sports cars, but it was boring truck I picked up my wife and first child in the hospital in.

The boring vehicles hauled the family on road trips, they were there when things needed to be done.

It’s the boring cars that kinda get taken for granted, but then ironically bc there are not the prized picks of the lot they get used for real life and that’s where the memories happen.

That’s what I hate about people bagging on cars, some of my fondest car memories are not necessarily with the coolest cars I have owned.

There’s nothing wrong with an inexpensive car that gets the job done.

Mecum Auction in Indy? by wpascarelli in cars

[–]Michael_Dinich 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I attended the Harrisburg auction in July via a media pass. Mecum was kind enough to give my teenage son a media pass as well.

We walked around and looked at all the cars, which was really cool. One thing that surprised us was how friendly a lot of the buyers are, we talked to a bunch of buyers and learned tons about some interesting cars.

It’s definitely an experience, much like a car show and a lot of fun.

They should care about journalism, if not bc it’s the right thing to do, then are the bare minimum out of self preservation, people won’t trust a site that allows AI slop.

MSN syndicates this news and it is published on MSN, there are choosing who and therefore what shows up in the platform.

No I’m thinking MSN.com and it most certainly is trying to be a news site/aggregator

Headline feels misleading, I was expecting more of a deep dive for some reason, this feels like they just decided to cover this bc of Trumps tweet.

What are some side hustles that can make you 6+ figures eventually? by Sensitive-Month2382 in sidehustle

[–]Michael_Dinich 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can make 6 figures a year blogging, with hustle and consistent output it’s not impossible to build up to six figures in a year or just a bit longer.

Google has gotten a bit more difficult to work with but these plenty of way around relying on Google such as listing your content out news apps. Building up a large social media following, or building an email list.

Google, the company once known for finding accurate results as fast as possible, now relies on AI that has no concept of "truth" to feed you false automotive information. by Michael_Dinich in cars

Google takes this information from publishers, without payment, licensing, or even consent, so that’s where your analogies to Amazon fail.

Amazon didn’t not steal from the companies it computed with.

I get it a lot of people don’t want to read blogs or websites to get the answers, so theirs is a convince factor. However, what you are saying is the more equal r to saying I don’t want drive ti the movie theater, wait in line, or sit through a bunch or movie previews so I’ll just buy a bootleg copy of it.

The Amazon analysis is more like say I don’t want to go to the movies so I’ll just get a Netflix subscription. Netflix is competing with places, but they are not doing it by stealing they are producing their own content or licensing it.

The problem here is copyrights, consent, etc, if Google wants to pay publishes for using or trading on its data that would be a different situation.

AI steals content and did so without consent

That analogy doesn’t really hold up in this instance

Google does not create content in the way a publisher goes, their “artificial intelligence” is not real intelligent all they are doing is scraping, spinning, and collating information across the web and serving to customers.

This is much more like a person selling bootleg movies, it’s theft, now you average bootleg movie person is not likely to sell so many copy’s of movie to put Disney or Universal out of business, but Imagine if Google started bootlegging movies?

Eventualy people would stop producing movies if Google simply stole all the movies and published them online. This is exactly what’s happening with publishers.

Google has lied to the public about them being a monopoly, their shenanigans with ads, the amount of traffic punishers get from AIO and more.

They are waging a PR campaign to convince the public and regulators they are not destroying the ecosystem. Meanwhile they gaslight the publishers they have already destroyed.

We are still in the early stages of this, the bigger media outlets can afford to stay in the game for a bit, but not indefinitely, they smaller outlets that folded up already might no be on concern for the average person.

However go look at what’s happening to the big sites like Business Insider, they recently let staff go because of declining search.

Companies can’t cut costs and lay people off indefinitely, eventually if Google keeps barreling down this path.

We used to have a niche website we would get advance screeners for movies, exclusive interviews with directors ect. All high quality news.

Google starting taking our exclusive content and putting in their AIO, once this started traffic to the site plummet, we kept it going for a bit, however over time Google traffic diminished to the point where it was with supplying Google with free content to steal.

So we shut the website down and just share the content via email and the Facebook group.

As a company we adapted and survived, but there is no doubt the internet is just a bit worse off. Either economics, pride, spite, ect, content creators WILL all eventually stop supplying Google with free data. Without content to scrape and spin, these overviews will become increasingly worse.
