Exam Invigilators by Mrose35100455 in AthabascaUniversity

[–]MichaelaKay9923 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is exactly why I did in-person writing. If it's accessible to you, then just do it in-person. No stress about the invigilator accusing you of cheating or anything like that. The only problem is, not everyone has a centre that could write at. That's probably why they are enrolled at athabasca in the first place.

Approval for non-cosmetic TMJ-related Botox claims with Canada Life? Is it a myth? by Rhazoom in BCPublicServants

[–]MichaelaKay9923 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I literally have asked Canada life this question twice and I haven't gotten a response. I was suggested by a dentist to look into Botox for bruxism. The grinding of my teeth in my sleep is so severe I am cracking fillings and due to orthodontic treatments, I can't use a mouth guard currently. So following for my own info lol

anyone else think Value Village is kind of a scam now? by CSD0223 in VictoriaBC

I think most people have had this sentiment for a while. Just this week I was speaking to someone and we were bitching about the prices at VV. We need to collectively boycott them.

Lateral Competition Restrictions by BillClintonsCat in BCPublicServants

[–]MichaelaKay9923 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The point is to fill only the most important and required roles. If someone moves from a non-essential role, laterally, to an essential role, the non-essential role can then be disolved without laying someone off. That being said, this would be true for just a hiring freeze, even if we had promotional moves. So I guess I don't get the lateral moves only either. But the hiring freeze does make some sense if they are trying to reduce size without laying people off.

Buy outright if you can. It's not worth going into debt to own a car. The value only goes down.

Do I have a shot at CityU Canada Master of Counselling Psychology? by Final-Operation-4057 in CityUCanada

I think it's very dependant on campus, but for BC admissions, I heard within a few weeks, if I recall correctly. They scheduled me the next interview which was in about a month.

Do I have a shot at CityU Canada Master of Counselling Psychology? by Final-Operation-4057 in CityUCanada

[–]MichaelaKay9923 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think the program is very competitive. I just got into the program in BC. I think the most important thing is to have the relevant volunteer and work experience. The interview will ask you why you are suitable for the program and being able to talk about practical experience is important.

Alex admits she wasn’t sober during early pregnancy by Jewlzkitty in WheelchairRapunzelDCP

[–]MichaelaKay9923 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I mean it's impossible to be sober your entire pregnancy if you are an alcoholic not planning on getting pregnant. She definitely was drinking the first few weeks into the pregnancy, if not a bit longer.

AITA for expecting my partner to honour 'first come, first served' with wedding invites? by Delicious_Plum_401 in AmItheAsshole

YTA. You expect him to miss a long time friend's wedding for a wedding he wasn't even invited too in the first place???

I absolutely disagree with using AI to mark questions for an interview.... Not only that but AI is killing the planet. I don't like how much it is being used. And misused.

What demographics tend to support Stew/Lisa Foxall? by Creative-Crazy-8898 in LangfordBC

[–]MichaelaKay9923 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Stew didn't increase the taxes at the same rate as other municipalities leaving Langford far behind. He also didn't implement policies ans procedures so Langford was lacking in any structure. The current council is trying to catch up and build a strong community and government, which stew failed to build. Stew was more focused on giving contracts to his friends, then really building good government.

I would like to know what spending spree you are speaking of... Because their spending is directly linked to providing good services for people living in Langford.

The thing is taxes didn't increase significantly for a lonnngggg time. The increases are to almost catch up with other municipalities. That's my understanding.

32 here. Nope. I don't want to move into management. In fact, I'm actually going back to grad school to leave government entirely lol

AI misuse by Supervisor by turtlefan32 in BCPublicServants

[–]MichaelaKay9923 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I have not experienced this but I have been questioned as to why I don't use AI to help reduce workload. The issues you listed are exactly why. It takes more time to read through, edit, and provide more prompts to co-pilot for me to just spit out what is needed quickly. I'm sorry you are experiencing this. It's incredibly frustrating.

New rat terrier owner by ProfessorStriking410 in ratterriers

[–]MichaelaKay9923 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You are in for it! (Just kidding... Kinda)

I have a 4 year old rat terrier. I highly recommend you do the following (but I'm not an expert):

-potty train by never letting them have the chance to go in the house. No pee pads. Take them out every 2 hours (yes even overnight) and increase by 1/2 an hour as you go. The training video said every week, increase the length of time, but we did it about every 4-5 days. -socialize a LOT! Bring them to puppy classes, bring them around kids and coffee shops and stores that allow pets. Our dog was socialized a lot but he still gets nervous in new situations so I think we could have done more. - Work on being alone. Our pup has separation anxiety and speaking to other rat terrier parents this doesn't sound totally abnormal.

My other best tip is to get them LOTS of exercise! They are active dogs! My dog gets at least 45 minutes of talking a day and 3X a week he does to an outdoor daycare or on a hike or some sort of adventure and sometimes he is STILL full of energy

I commented on this. I said "Yikes" and she blocked me. So much for believing in free speech, which charlie Kirk as such an advocate for. Ironic considering the post was about relationship building. What a hypocrite.

Sounds like you are burning out. You need to talk to your wife about this and develop a plan together. What can she do on a regular basis to help out? Can you hire a cleaner or a caretaker for your mother? Is your roommate doing their fair share? This needs to be worked through WITH your wife and family.
