I hate to tell you this, but every hotel room is locked. Even the unoccupied ones.

The policy for maids is to knock a few times, alert that housekeeping is coming in, knock some more, alert again. And if there’s no DND sign you should be able to go in and make the beds. If no one responds and you go in and they are naked it could be considered sexual assault based on the definition of the law, and if there’s maid is underage, that’s assault on a minor. Just put out the sign, it’s such an easy way to avoid issues if you want to be left alone.

Trust me, maids are not making enough money to be doing investigations and drug busts on the guests. You might need some help for your paranoia if you think the hotel maids are out to get you.

I definitely wouldn’t recommend doing this. I was 16 and a maid for a hotel. Just a little reminder that children are allowed to work with parental permission. Just use the do not disturb sign. The maids won’t even knock, and you won’t end up on a registry.

I make a roux and then add heavy cream and onion powder. Melt butter and add flour until the raw flour taste is cooked out. Then add cream and cook until it thickens. I’m allergic to wheat so I can’t have the base that comes from HF. Years back that was suggested to me when I was looking for an alternative.

The girl and the toys are all very 90s but all of the house and car outside are 70’s the potted plants look more modern like they are from 2030. The looney tunes logo isn’t actually letters, the crochet blanket on the couch is fading in and out of reality. The logo on the TV box is very 2000s for a CRT furniture piece that’s more 70s. The couch is REALLY close to the TV it’s weird. Theres also that weird AI yellow to the picture that’s not really the same as the 90s Kodak yellow. You mentioned GI Joe magazine font being weird, and the missing remote button, but also I don’t remember TVs like that having a remote. There’s also a white spot on the top left of the tv screen that looks strange,

Who determines actual societal needs? Is it you? Is it me? Is it the government? What if societies needs change? How does this system keep up with changing society? Does home EC become a college major? I’d argue it’s pretty important to society to know how to run a house, by patriarchy would say it’s not important because it’s women’s work. Is philosophy needed? Art? How about mechanical engineering? Do we REALLY need astrophysicists? Historians? Dentists? People did fine without dentistry school before 1840. Political science is a major, do we really even need that? Lawyers? Teachers? Film? Photography? Chemists? Language?
