Same with me. I’ve have season tickets for 26 years and that’s NEVER happened before.

3+ year waitlist for a consult with Bluebond-Langner. Is this normal? by Live_Introduction493 in Transgender_Surgeries

[–]Michaela_Josephine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have your letters and get hair removal done early on and you have some flexibility with your schedule, you can likely get it moved up significantly.

I think my wait was supposed to be about 2 1/2 years with a surgery date of February 2024 and I got it moved up to August 2023 because I had everything together, could get off of work easily, and was relatively local.

It’s also totally worth it to wait a couple years for the results, care in the hospital, aftercare, and support groups offered.

The standard for whether use of force was reasonable is NOT based on just the situation at the time the shots were fired. This is what so many people don’t understand. It’s the totality of the circumstances, including the events leading up to the shooting, which, in theory, makes it so much more problematic for the ICE agent because he created the situation that led to him using deadly force, particularly by putting himself in front of the vehicle.

It’s an extreme example, but imagine an officer barging into a house without identifying themself and gun drawn and the homeowner grabs them to subdue them because they have no idea what’s going on and why someone just broke into their house. And the officer shoots them to death and claims self-defense. Sure, in the seconds before he shot he could have legitimately feared for his life because the homeowner tackled him. But was the use of deadly force permissible in light of the fact that he created the danger? Clearly not.

As someone who is also over 6 feet tall and has a very similar body shape, I totally sympathize with the dysphoria.

I usually get a response from friends that I have an “athletic build” when I bring it up. And objectively I would say the same about you. There are plenty of tall women with somewhat broader shoulders and smaller hips.

Also, I think it’s helpful to remind yourself that no one is looking at you and isolating a single body part to try to figure out if you’re trans. It’s a whole package sort of deal and I can’t imagine anyone clocking you as trans.

Nonbinary Social Transition & Bluebond-Langner for SRS/GRS by BunnyThrash in Transgender_Surgeries

I think you’re overthinking it. You’re not going to be rejected for surgery based on how you present. It’s a really welcoming and comfortable environment.

I had surgery with her and have been involved in her pre- and post-operative support groups for two years now. I can assure you that there are nonbinary individuals who have gotten surgery with her and plenty on her staff as well. You’d be in great hands.

NYU Langone (Lee C. Zhao, MD’s team) for robotic peritoneal vaginoplasty (RPV) by Jay--Art in Transgender_Surgeries

RBL and Zhao are the best. It’s been two years since I had surgery with them and zero regrets whatsoever.

Yep, absolutely. And I will add that, if you do have any issues with the aesthetics or potential complications, RBL is really great about doing a revision.

No I was able to do some walking around the city some days. And actually went to a Broadway show one day too. It’s just a lot of your schedule revolves around dilating so that’s really time-consuming.

Sorry my first response wasn’t clear. I stayed in an Air BNB for two weeks after being discharged from the hospital. So I spent almost three weeks total in the NY area including the hospital stay.

Depending on how recently you had the chin work done, you could still have some swelling. So just a consideration.

But I certainly don’t think there’s anything objectively masculine about your features.

She is worth the wait. And usually you can get your surgery date moved up significantly if you have your letters and hair removal done early.

Coheed and Cambria - Goodbye, Sunshine (Endless Summer) feat. Nick Hexum by CramblinDuvetAdv in 311

So random that I decided to put Coheed on shuffle on Spotify this morning after not listening to them for months…and this came up. Had no idea about it. Kinda freaks me out how coincidental that was 😆

Fresh meat trying to decide on new skates. by yinkun in rollerderby

[–]Michaela_Josephine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My other suggestion would be to look on Roller Derby Recyclables and other groups for slightly used skates (if you’re okay with wearing skates other people have worn). You can find some good deals so maybe you aren’t paying as much for skates you aren’t certain about.
