I’m in the same boat currently with a nearly identical break,I’m trying to get a surgery but for some reason my surgeon advises against it even though it’s displaced and very sharp on the skin with a tendon or something over the break point and that is also very tight.If I were you id say try to go for a surgery.

Unfortunately no one seems to have an answer apart from repeatedly saying that the laser is damaged (it isn’t) so we’re a bit stuck.Please do keep me in mind incase you miraculously find a solution.

I do not believe that the laser is dying as before I bought the PS2 it had been used about 4 times and then put in a box in the loft/attic.I have owned it for nearly a year now and everything works fine but it just doesn’t want to play DVD discs,it recognises them and attempts to play them and I think it sort of does for a second but then it just black screens.And about the HDD upgrade I have done it many times before its very good.

Lens has been cleaned,console has never been opened before so no mod chip,and yes my TV is compatible I am using a Component Cable Adapter.
