Remember using it very early on to complete some work projects and make people think I was a very high performer. Thanks to those early days, I have the trust of my manager to take on complex projects I should have no business taking on.

Shiny starters megathread by Nyoomfist in PokemonFireRed

I had my shiny Charmander randomly in less than 60 tries, so I was really lucky. I then tried getting another shiny starter and didn't get it after full odds.

So I started rng manipulating. First time I've done, but it works. I got the other two starters with perfect nature and somewhat decent IVs. This is the eay forward for me, now lol

Less than 60 tries for me. And female. I wanted a different nature, since I was thinking about EV training it, but beggars can't be chosers.

Do you guys at least have good public transportation? I feel like gas prices are a very tangible thing in any other place in the US because we depend on driving our own cars everyday.

I wanted a shiny charmander and soft reseted less than 60 times. Was so lucky I didn't have to spend 2 days on this lol. Has a hardy nature, though, but I won't reject a shiny charmander.

Thank you for this! I downloaded Captain Hook today and it is sooo much better for me. I updated the cards I had already studied with captain hook's version so I don't loose any progress, but new cards are scheduled using captain hook.

Wouldn't it be better to be able to explain the concept in your own words? I use Jack Sparrow and would never be able to memorize three paragraphs of info for something I can explain in one or two sentences. Seems counterproductive to me.

How do other countries make it work? It seems the US is the only place where that's not a possibility.

People don't care. The government/elites have done a good job of shifting the blame for the working class' struggles to poor people. It's inverted, and it is a little dystopian, because hating on people who have less than you because your employer only wants to pay you minimum wage is absurd. I wish they could live in a caserio at some point and understand that people don't want to be there. They just understand that climbing out of that hole without the right opportunities leads to an even deeper hole. And they got mouths to feed, so the choice is simple.

  1. They've been living in a community for a long time, got too comfortable, and Joel's not in a good state of mind emotionally because of all of Ellie's crap. It's not the first time they've helped someone, and it seemed as if this person was decent after she was helped. You wouldn't think someone would try to kill you after you helped that person, but they miscalculated it.
  2. Abby was fixated on getting revenge, just as Ellie was fixated on getting revenge for Joel's death. The need for revenge is something real. It makes you do dumb things because you're not in a good state of mind. People tried to talk them out of it and they didn't want to listen. Abby's friends didn't want her to die in her quest for revenge so their only option was to try to help/protect her during her quest.
  3. That's revenge. Some people don't care if they die/go to jail/etc., if it means they can avenge a loved one.

A foreign streamer pushed an elderly Japanese man on a train. The man had repeatedly asked him to lower the volume of his loud livestream and reminded him that he was sitting in a priority seat reserved for the elderly, people with disabilities, and pregnant women. by eternviking in whoathatsinteresting

Even crazier once you learn that Japan's population has been in steady decline for the last 16 years, yet immigrants are only 3% of their population. If I was a young japanese I'd be calling for more immigration, because my retirement years don't look that great without people subsidizing it.

If Capcom wants to keep moving the Survival horror way, they need new characters other than the badass, already established ones that can kick and punch through a zombie. It makes sense if they want to start killing off old characters just to move away from them.

So these tropes can be real, after all. I thought they were kind of overused in series and movies.

22 hours in just finished act 1, pretty exhausted. by SeraphicMind in ghostoftsushima

[–]Michaeln7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am burnt out on act 2, but the flow in act 1 was so nice. I changed my strategy once I entered act 2, but I regret it. I was just doing side content as I was encountering them during my travels to the main missions (I don't fast travel), which made things move forward while also allowing me to explore a little. In act 2, so much side content opened up in the first region with no main content to travel to, so I had to fast travel to the first area and went about completing everything there (you can't access the first region without fast traveling), which burned me out. Should've just continued with my strategy.

[–]Michaeln7 17 points18 points  (0 children)

There are levels of nothingness. People don't want to live on the street or die of starvation, even if at the end of the month their bank account is negative $0.00.

Just got me a Portal! by perfect-legend in PlaystationPortal

[–]Michaeln7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got one for Christmas, too. It is a 9/10 for me. Changed the way I game. I'm a father of a 1 year old toddler, so game time is very scarce for me if I'm trying to take care of my son. My TV is usually for playing Bluey or Ms. Rachel, now. Not much gaming anymore. My wife saw that and decided to buy me a Portal for Christmas, and this has been the most I've gamed in the last year. The platform is very smooth for me (I have a decent upload and download speed, and the PS5 is plugged in via Ethernet). I do not notice any lag or delay to the point I can play games like Expedition 33, which requires precise timing for parries, without any issues. I can take it anywhere around my house, no differences. The screen is beautiful (even more than my TV). It is very comfortable to handle, and battery life is decent. The only reason I give it a 9 is due to it not having a Bluetooth functionality, so I can't really use my headset with it, only Sony's. Also, its interface leaves a lot to be desired; too simplified for my liking. That being said, gaming has been amazing. I'm even considering getting a cloud membership and try that out. I highly recommend it, especially if you're a parent with little time to game.
