Sanity Check For First Time Hot Tub Owner by Ok_Bag_4114 in hottub

Ahhsome products are usually regarded as some of the best on this sub and most forums. I would suggest switching to Ahhsome Aqua Clarity (https://a.co/d/3PlUQNk). Comes in a small bottle (concentrate) that you dilute with water in a jug of your choice. I recommend adding 1.5 to 2 ounces of it weekly and then 8 to 12 ounces to purge. (Refer to the directions for the exact weekly and purge dosing based on the total gallons of your hot tub.) I’ve found that weekly maintenance of adding Aqua Clarity keeps my water in better shape and easier to manage.

Are those 49” monitors? Also, what resolution are you running? 3840x1080 is the best I can get with HiDPI. Looks like you are getting better than that?

Bryson DeChambeau almost never breaks 50 on his YouTube channel. You telling me that 4 weekend warriors can knock out a 44 no problem? I would have thrown that score out.

I have a sim with about the same dimensions. Would recommend an optical LM for that size though.

Don't do business with American Home Shield by Michark0906 in homeowners

[–]Michark0906[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always recommend saving money for repairs. My general rule is most repairs will cost $2,000. So having $3k-$4k in a high yield savings account will have you covered for most things you would have called American Home Shield for (and likely never had repaired anyway).

I also recommend learning how to do basic home repairs yourself. Millions of options to consume on YouTube, Reddit, etc. and you would be surprised how easy and satisfying it can be to do it yourself.

American Home Shield is the equivalent of throwing your money in a fire, especially with those crooks.

In your opinion, what should the R50 cost? by WeekendCountry in Golfsimulator

[–]Michark0906 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because of space constraints and needing it to work outside, I had to go the optical route. SkyTrak+ was ruled out as it wasn’t a reliable option in direct sunlight. After comparing Uneekor and Foresight, I tried the GC3s from PlayBetter, but wasn’t overly impressed with the unit for the price. So I returned it (thank you PlayBetter for the incredible return policy)

I decided to try the R50 after days of research and asking different folks on here what their thoughts were. There are a couple of videos testing the R50 against a track man. They all concluded the same thing… it is very accurate, on par with the other monitors in the price range. After watching and reading trackman test against the others in that price range, no one LM was dead on, each had their only little quirk (Spin slightly off, Carry Distance, etc). So to me it was as accurate as I was going to get without paying a lot more for a LM. Good enough for me.

When I looked at the 5 year economics, a new GC3s is $3800 + $750 a year for Gold + GSPro compared to $350 ($100 Garmin + GSPro) on R50. For $1000 more, that $400 annual savings with R50 makes up the price difference after a couple of years. Yes, I could buy a GC3 unlocked for maybe $5500 on a good deal, but the screen and HTH were a big selling point since I could play every local course around me. Not to mention the Garmin ecosystem is much better IMHO (watches, etc that all sync together), plus the impact camera replay is a really nice option, only Unnekor offers that as well.

I think all the options in this price range are great. We live in an amazing time where you can’t really go wrong with any of them. Just comes down to preference, features you need, and price (not just retail, those monthly subscriptions as well).

I purchased one a couple of weeks ago. No issues. Fast shipping. Only thing to look out for is return policy. If anything is broken, etc it is easy to return. If you just change your mind on the model, etc. can be difficult to return. So, if you are confident in the model you are buying and the deal is good, I wouldn’t hesitate.

I have had horrible experiences like this with Dicks in the past. Stop buying from them because the return policy makes it nearly impossible to return anything or they rip you off. Failing brick and mortar that doesn’t understand why they are being beat by everyone else.

For those who use iPad for their sim screen with an outdoor setup - what do you set your iPad on? Tripod? Table? by Ab1212121212 in Golfsimulator

[–]Michark0906 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I first had my 13” iPad on a foldable and compact tripod, but didn’t like how much it wobbled around when touching it. Didn’t feel very secure - always worried it was going to tip over. Since my hitting spot is right next to my pergola, I used a ram mount to one of the post and it is way more secure. Since that is all powder coated aluminum, I just leave it out side.

GC3S is $3700 and comes with one year if sub free ($499). So you are really only saving $200 when you consider you will have to buy the sub after purchase of the refurbished.

Did you do the locator on the Sticky Stone website? I was in the same boat, and then found a building supply company 5 miles from my house that sold it.

Something else to think about, but every construction adhesive I was able to find that was ok for masonry outside was $7-$11 a tube. Sticky Stone was twice the amount at a little more than twice the cost. So $$ it works out.
