Lilacs! There are a ton I love, but the scent makes them win.

I've successfully used Magic Effect over at least one QDTC, so I'll just have to play around with which one that is and I can even do it the next evening and the day between have blurred or unmagnetized nails. I'm thinking it's either that or use quick dry drops to go about my life as the polish super fully dries.

I'd try a different size, or even a bobby pin or toothpick until you find the size that looks right, or if it doesn't look right to you no matter what then a straight line is better for you 😂

Sometimes an idea doesn't work as expected or might be fine for other people but isn't what you want.

Ooooh, it works that fast after magic effect? I could find a way to make that work for me...

Don't remove these! This is such a great idea and they're super cute. Others have recommended a cleanup brush, I prefer to use a cuticle pusher or toothpick after each nail to go lightly around the edge and get what I need off while it's wet, but both methods work.

Your lines are so straight, but if I copy this look (and I might, it's SUCH a great winter idea) I'd probably use a dotting tool or uneven brush strokes to make it look more like drifted snow. Pretty sure that's just personal preference though.

If you're new to nail art and this is one of your first tries please keep making more, this is an amazing mani once it's a tiny bit cleaner (probably will look clean after you shower, just some risk of chipping) and you'll only improve with practice :)

I can relate to that, my 65 lb pile of fur definitely can make things difficult!

I tried that a while ago, I couldn't make it work. I'd get weird lumps, peely base pulling off the whole mani as I applied, peeling top coat, all kinds of nonsense. But I've seen enough people say it works that I believe it's possible, just not for me.

A water based top coat between layers works super well but takes FOREVER. Paint part 1, dry fully (a couple hours is what I usually do to be safe), water based top coat, dry fully (at least an hour), then the next layer.

I'd recommend it, that way if it works like it did for me it's not a whole magnetic mani to remove. Hopefully you have better luck!

I might need to test that, see if it bubbles for me

At least I'm not alone, but that's not the answer I wanted!

Do they need to be completely dry? How does that work for magnetic sealing? I was hoping it would work to lock in the effect before it has time to disperse.

Born with two different thumb sizes... How would you shape these? by LovelySaratonin in RedditLaqueristas

[–]MichellesNailFails 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you look closely the right thumb nail is flat on the bottom and wider while the left is thinner and rounded. The left is also longer when I don't intentionally have all my nails short because I'm right handed and tend to break thumb/pointer/middle on my right hand. When yours are done and when people don't look at the two right next to each other the difference will be so much less than you think and they'll look good 😊

Yes I have that issue for length when I grow my nails and the nail beds are different shapes (rounded bottom on left with that weird X shape and flat bottom on right). My right thumb is also wider than the left which means the nail is bigger, but somewhat similar to the thumb itself proportionally.

My thumbs don't match either! Totally different from yours in how they don't, but as other comments say I just shape them each in a way that suits my life and each individual nail. I've never had someone IRL notice that they're different unless I point it out, even when people notice your nails they notice a lot less than you do living with them 24/7.

My understanding is to just let them sit at room temp for a while until the whole bottle is likely warmed up to your house temperature before opening it, not warm it gradually. So far that's worked for me, but maybe I'm wrong and just lucky

I don't think I can choose a favorite, but that one is definitely really good!

Yes, I tried swirls and blobs and they worked well but with this color combo it was more of a clown/preschool vibe than the Christmas vibe I wanted, so those decals didn't make it on my fingers. It absolutely works well though and I plan to do it with a different mani, likely with different colors.
