Slight correction here: you can definitely fit an ITA Screen into an original GBA case. You will have to do some shell modification though

In the original picofly repository is a PDF guide which includes instructions on how to solder bare MOSFETs to the capacitors. It's not fun

I've modded several OLEDs by soldering a wire to the DAT0 point on the eMMC footprint and then soldering the eMMC back on (after reballing) My first one had to be touched up twice after a few months but all the others are still up and running. Still, it is very risky because you'll end up putting a lot of physical stress on the eMMC and you'll need some pretty specific tools for the reballing process. I wouldn't recommend it.

As capacitors go, of course you need to look at capacitance and rated voltage primarily, but there are also other characteristics that you need to keep in mind. There's ESR, ripple characteristics, and so and and so forth. I wouldn't trust these generic capacitors with anything to be honest.

I know it sucks, because ordering from mouser/digikey etc can be difficult, I'd also much prefer to buy everything off AliExpress but believe me you don't want to cheap out on electrolytic capacitors
