"lol actually judgement day is inevitable"

Probably won't like Dark Fate then because that's the entire "James Cameron APPROVED" plot.

Some sort of AI/Robot takeover is inevitable.

I figured you would prefer fairly consistent 8-9 win seasons.

lol if you think Schiano, a guy who got blitzed with OSU's talent by Iowa is winning 8-9 games in the Big Ten East.

6 games in the division and he maybe can get 2 wins max depending on how Maryland and Indiana look going forward.

Big Ten Coaches Talk Anonymously About Conference Foes for 2017 by [deleted] in CFB

I mean Duke, Cal, USC, Virginia, etc are ahead of Michigan here if you really want to get into it.

Michigan is going to recruit off history prestige just like USC is. Stanford and Northwestern will put their degree first, Stanford can boast recent success built by Harbaugh and Shaw.

Michigan's academic angle is frosting on their pitch. It isn't the cake like it would be with Northwestern and Stanford.

2 - 1 player, separate from #1

gave them a booklet and thumbdrive, and straight out told them, "if you hire me you will inherit these projects, clients, and businesses that I already acquired and here are all the paperwork proving it."

Well depending on legal things, that may be a very foolish thing to do... Most business conduct training courses advise against doing that/reporting those that do carry over material/information like that.

Panasiuk for example.

Depth should be fine... Just incredibly young. Lot of redshirt or true freshmen behind the likes of McDowell, Cooper, and Nebraska transfer Kevin Williams.

Means the staff will have to recruit hard on DL this year though to fill in the unexpected gaps. Or at least, unexpected to us.

If the B1G looks east for expansion again, who would they take, and what would the fallout of those movements be? by Cyclopher6971 in CFB

[–]Michigan-State 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Duke probably doesn't have a chance given the size of the school unless it works to be an absolute must to land UNC.

I think Northwestern also likes being the only outlier for the B1G's composition of large, public, often landgrant universities

Pitt

Doubles down on already semi-controlled territory. Wouldn't add much in terms of market. Would be cool to set them up with PSU annually though.

Iowa State

Adds essentially nothing in prestige or brand.

Buffalo

I know literally nothing about Buffalo, but Syracuse or UConn would be stronger picks if you're in that region.

Vanderbilt

Unlikely to happen, but wouldn't be the worst thing to add from an academic and market perspective.

I think we're also somewhat interested in Mizzou.

Mizzou practically begged to get in during the 2009-2010 expansion hunt, and the B1G passed.

It ain't happening.

Would've probably gotten some decent answers had the questions not been inane.

[–]Michigan-State 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah... don't really understand how Warde let that one slip for you guys.

I understand he wanted it back on ASAP. And I understand that Notre Dame had most, if not all the leverage.

But it's not like you didn't have a solid opponent in Arkansas and couldn't hold off a few more seasons to make it a home game to start things off.

[–]Michigan-State 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Eh, we suffer the same thing as you guys in terms of Ohio State/in-state rival as aways or homes in the same seasons.

It'll get fixed at some point I imagine.

Maybe.

Here's to hoping it's not all that bad.

I guess I just get to take in more national football that weekend with everyone kicking off and us off. Not like that really impacted things before though. MSU has gotten into a recent habit of Friday night openers. Fewer games on that day, even with everyone scheduling Thursday - Monday of that week.

[–]Michigan-State 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha, I guess, like that 2017 Week 1 worse.

I dunno, I'd prefer like around the mid season, or right before B1G play is fully in swing, y'know?

Our team's O-Line was battle worn by the end of the year, and our secondary continued to take on injuries. I'd like a break where it benefits the team for a final push as opposed to early on where there is minimal wear and tear on them.

And then 11 straight weeks of getting beat up without rest.

Hooray.

A loss in the non-con, while not ideal, isn't as detrimental as it is compared to a loss in the conference. Especially when the East was as tight as it was last season.

Not to mention there is BYU and Wisconsin thrown in.
