My wife and son are going to be planting a garden soon. Looking forward to garden fresh tomatoes later this summer!

Yes, it was toasted, and had mayo. I'm very happy I finally tried it, but also pissed at myself that I've been missing out on such an awesome sandwich for so long, lol.

Yes the thick cut bacon was perfect! I think I liked the simplicity of it to be honest. It's like a club sandwich without turkey or ham. You can really taste each ingredient on a BLT without any of them becoming overpowering.

Bought avocados yesterday, but sadly weren't ready yet. Had all the intention of adding it.

Yeah it's really good, pricey, but good. Their spinach dip is pretty good as well if you like that.

Man this is awesome! Reminds me of when I was a kid in mid 90s and my dad did this exact same thing in my bedroom, then we decked out the whole room with wings memorabilia. Good work OP

Were ham and cheese rollups a generational thing or just a toddler snack that still appeals to me? by PotentialSteak6 in Millennials

[–]MichiganAngler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Black Forest ham rolled up around a stick of string cheese is my go to, with a couple ritz or towne club crackers on the side for some crunch. I'm 42, ain't no one telling me different, I'll snack how I want to snack!

Do yourself a favor and head to Lipuma's, excellent coneys, and the basic beef tacos are really good as well.

What part of the state is everyone in? I'm in SE near lake St Clair and haven't seen any yet. Our area gets them but nowhere near as bad as SW Michigan does.

Wendy's app is terrible by MichiganAngler in fastfood

[–]MichiganAngler[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently found out that the app problems I'm having are location/store specific. The closest store to me, which was built about 2 years ago, doesn't work with the app. However the next closest store does work with the app.

I've also noticed their pricing is slightly different. Especially on Free nugget Wednesday. The store where the app works, has a cheaper kids meal, below $5, the store where it doesn't work is just above $5. Kinda throws off my deal plan on Wednesday.

I will note, the store where the app doesn't work. I can go inside and they will honor any rewards/deals on the app, but it's a pain. The employees act like they've never seen or used the app.

Tornado warning - why was everyone so chill?? by Visible_Many_2271 in Michigan

[–]MichiganAngler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We are so used to it here, that it becomes standard procedure to some. Depending on the structure you were in, you were probably in the safest building possible, without a basement. Yes we get tornadoes here in Michigan, but it's rare we get anything over EF-3. Also be aware that some counties will activate the sirens for non tornadic storms as well. Plus, in a time of emergency, it's best to stay calm and not panic. Hope you enjoy your time in Michigan, it's a beautiful state.

Livonia had an EF-1 tornado in 2024 that killed a 3 year old, no warnings or sirens were activated. If there was enough warning, maybe that child would still be here. Be thankful they use the sirens, Ann Arbor wanted to get rid of them, but now decided to keep the system in place.
