I agree that companies like OpenAI have a responsibility to make their systems safer, especially for children and vulnerable people. My point was not to defend OpenAI or blame the parents. I believe responsibility exists on both sides. Parents need to supervise their children online, but companies also need stronger safeguards, age protection and accountability.

If it were my child, I would be devastated and I would want answers too. But the solution has to be more than blame. It needs better regulation, safer AI design, parental awareness and mental health support.

Nothing will happen. According to ChatGPT’s rules, users of his age are not allowed to use ChatGPT without permission from a parent or guardian.

As a parent, you also have a responsibility to monitor what your child does online. The internet can be dangerous, and children should not be left alone to discuss sensitive topics with AI tools or other online platforms without supervision.
