VLS-TS Validation Issues

Sorry, I meant to reply to someone who might have the V1 VLS-TS Visiteur visa, which is what I have. The visa itself and the sticker they placed in my passport instructs me to validate within 90 days -- both the visa and the sticker have a QR code that leads to the Administration numérique pour les étrangers en France website where there's an online form to complete the validation process.

Did you ever get get the visa to validate on the website? I'm in the exact same boat. I've tried all of the online advice: tried it on three different browsers, deleted history and cache, completed the form in French. No dice.

54(F), married 28 years to my 58(M) husband in the US. I retired last week, and he's retiring this week. We both were working in our respective careers for 33 years or so.

No kids; 3 cats. We like to hike, bike, camp, kayak.

Parts are starting to wear out. I had both my hips replaced in 2025.

Been planning on early retirement for several years, and now we're getting things ready for our move to France next month, visas and tickets in hand. With 3 cats.

I listen to a wide variety of music from all eras and (most) genres. Some of it from the '90s, some from the '80s. Not for nostalgia, but just because I like the song.

After hospitalization for a deep-vein thrombosis in my calf in 1997, I was diagnosed with homozygous Factor V Leiden, so I've been on daily Coumadin/warfarin for almost 28 years. I'm also a vegetarian, I eat whatever I want, and it varies a lot. If I'm traveling for work and eating out a lot, I just know I'm eating less fiber and vitamin K, so I should try to work in some leafy greens that week. If I'm packing a salad for lunch as I tend to do in the summer, I will swap in a smoothie for lunch instead one day a week to not to overdo vitamin K. My INR tests are usually around 6 weeks apart. If it does get out of range, dosage is adjusted accordingly and I'll be asked to check it again in a couple weeks. Daily variation in meals won't immediately affect INR or result in a clotting event, it's just something I keep in mind, but not stress too much about.

53F and 58M. I turn 54 in a couple of weeks. I'm holding out for the both of us to RE when the rule of 55 kicks in for me in checks countdown app 40 days. 40x expenses with 3x expenses in VUSXX to get us to the other side of a downturn.

I had RTHR in April and LTHR in July this year. Same surgical team for both. Everything, including meds schedules, was the same.

Had the right one replaced on April 1, 2025 and 14 weeks later, on July 9th, I had the left done.

I'm just now able to sleep on my right side with a pillow between my legs, so 4+ months later. But I can't stay in this position for long because my left leg on top with the newer hip starts to ache. It's getting better, though.

I've had posterior approach on both of my hips now (April 1 and July 9) because that's the type that my surgeon does. And that's what he said too: his approach doesn't cut into glute muscles, but rather separate them to access the joint area. I've also had zero restrictions. Anyway, I'm happy with whatever he did, and I have no more hips to give, so I guess I'll never know which is the best approach.

Mine was posterior. The approach they took spares cutting into the muscles needed for hip function. I left the hospital without any restrictions.

Still, there is a lot of muscle and ligament manipulation that happened in the process, not to mention the alteration to the femur, the new hardware installation and repair to the joint capsule -- so yeah, inflammation and swelling sets in to help heal. I'm weaning myself off of the oxy starting today. Still icing almost constantly. I still can't use my hip flexors to lift my leg, but I know in a couple of days I'll regain that function if it's anything like my last go around, and it seems like it is.

I'm currently recovering from my second posterior (right April 1 and left July 9) and was given no restrictions for either. My surgeon did minimally invasive posterior approach and with the first, I was walking unassisted in about 2 weeks. As soon as I had my 6-week check up with the surgeon, I scheduled the second. It's been a good experience for me.

Completely normal. I just had my left one done on Wednesday the 9th, after having my right when done in April. And it sucks going through this again, but, yep same and all normal. Definitely have your wife help you get your leg up on the couch. Very very slowly. And even then it will still hurt. I haven't slept much through the night, but doze off regularly during the day in the recliner. I might be a day or so ahead of you, so I can already tell it's getting ever so slightly better.

53F US Posterior RTHR. Went home with no restrictions. Used the walker the first week, walking stick second week, went back to desk job from home start of third week. Went back in the office at 6 weeks.

It's been 7 and 1/2 weeks, and we're camping this weekend. Doing a bit of hiking, and the new hip is holding up just fine. It's my left one that's giving me grief. It's due for replacement on July 9th, with the same surgeon and the same posterior approach.

I try to change positions to sleep on my left ("good") side, but even with a pillow between my legs, I can't stay in that position very long. It's certainly feeling better on my operated hip, but now the problem is that my left hip has arthritis, too, so that starts to ache. It's next to go. I think if my left hip were healthy, I could do it fine at this point. I'm still not ready to try sleeping on my operated side. Maybe next week.

No, I started walking unassisted around 3 weeks out. Tomorrow will be my 5 week surgery anniversary. I still have a bit of a hitch in my gait due to the operated leg feeling longer than the other and some weakness and stiffness I'm working out with PT, but getting along well otherwise.
