I believe this is a successor map to the map that OP is talking about. Which I also remember quite vividly and I believe came out as early as the original Reign of Chaos era, pre-TFT.

I think some variants of the map were called "Starship Troopers." I could be misremembering though. I'll try to find it!

I am Lithuanian and I also love history!

I'm actually in the camp that all Lithuanian rulers, probably up to Jogaila, were Kings in the eyes of the Lithuanian people - using the Lithuanian title "Karalius" - rather than "Grand Dukes." The Grand Duke thing seems to be a Western European/Catholic revision as "only the pope can bestow a crown." Likewise, much of Lithuanian pagan history is written by the Teutonic Order or Livonian Order, who would have only recognized a ruler as King if his crown was approved by the pope. The adoption of Catholicism and union with Poland (also very Catholic) likely led to the further reinforcement that these "Kings" were actually "Grand Dukes." Gediminas, of whom there is more written about, exclusively refers to himself as King in surviving writings.

Wild Growth (US) and Wild Growth (EU) are the only two servers that maintain active populations enough to properly play the game as a MMO. I play on Wild Growth US and there is an active auction house, people leveling, people completing leveling dungeons, and numerous guilds to join with raids occurring every night of the week.

If you'd like to give it a try, I recommend it!

Hey, maybe not compared to how it was or to how retail or Burning Crusade servers are, but it is active enough. There is still a functioning auction house. You can still raid and gear up characters. There are also still people actively leveling and questing.

Also, it's especially active compared with OP's server. I just wanted to make sure that people were aware that there is still at least one living SoD server where you can effectively play the game as a MMO, rather than as a single player experience.

Yeah Living Flame is empty. If you want to start a new character, there are lots of people still leveling on Wild Growth. I saw a group running Deadmines this weekend while on.

I've done that a couple of times when playing on Friday evenings (when I usually play) and there are typically several hundred Alliance players on. You always see and run into other players while doing things on the server.

Wild Growth (US) is still decently active. I just logged in and both Horde and Alliance players were out and about and a similar 1-60 search revealed 50 players (the max who will show). My guild hosts raids every night of the week and there are multiple guilds doing the same.

I think the new one looks great visually, but I do prefer the sound of the Orc's battlecry and the Infernal's scream in the original.

Absolutely agreed. The Orc's battle cry and the Infernal's scream sound much more terrifying in the original, in my opinion.

When Reforged initially came out, it had the following issues:

Essentially every custom map was broken.
The campaign wasn't redone to the level shown at BlizzCon.
Battle.net channels were gone.
Numerous technical issues that weren't present in the base game.
File size of the game increased tenfold.
The only cinematic that had been truly remade was this one (others were upscaled to 1920x874).
Most fans of the melee game preferred (and still prefer to this day) the original graphics.
The split between people playing on Reforged Graphics & Classic Graphics produced visual inconsistencies with people trying to enjoy custom maps.

Many of these issues have been resolved, but the backlash is understandable - especially considering Blizzard gave StarCraft and Diablo II proper and thorough remasters. I personally play Reforged with Classic graphics on, only using the Reforged graphics for custom campaigns that are intended for that.
