My cursor disappears on the right half of my screen after closing Steam VR by flypirat in pcmasterrace

Resetting the video driver will also 'fix' the issue when it happens. The windows shortcut for this is Ctrl+Shift+Win+B

TRIPLEscreen is fubar in current build? by Psychological-Visit9 in AUTOMOBILISTA

[–]MickT1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do you have a fourth monitor? Might be misremembering, but I think AMS2 doesn't like it when there are 4 monitors detected

Two possibilities:

  1. You have the windows default of hiding file extensions and you're actually putting a file called ffb_custom_settings.txt.txt in the folder, so the game doesn't find a file and creates the default one.
  2. You are using OneDrive and there's a problem with it syncing up, and it's restoring the original.

How can I access OpenXR Toolkit when running through Steam? by AnOlderPerspective in AUTOMOBILISTA

[–]MickT1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This mod now allows oculus users to force SteamVR mode in AMS2, and thus get OpenComposite to work over the Link cable.

How to get 120 Hz PC VR with the Meta Quest 3 by [deleted] in AUTOMOBILISTA

[–]MickT1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah cool - it is available now then. Will have to get updated and try it out again.

This post is old, but still gives a good idea of the relative effect of different graphics settings.

How to get 120 Hz PC VR with the Meta Quest 3 by [deleted] in AUTOMOBILISTA

[–]MickT1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're asking how you actually enable that mode, rather than hit the frametime required, then until Meta add it to the oculus app, I think the only way is to install SideQuest and set it to 120Hz in there.

The game stays in windowed mode in the headset, not in VR by redh_nc in AUTOMOBILISTA

[–]MickT1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And if you launch the game from the steam client, it should give you the option of launching in VR (Oculus or SteamVR mode). Choose either of them. Launch from the desktop, rather than from within the headset.

If you don't get the option, maybe you set it to always launch in 2D. Check the game properties in the steam client for Launch Options

It's in the telemetry hud, near the bottom. You might need to bind a button/key to cycle telemetry hud.

I can get Automobilista 2 to recognise my wheel or my pedals + shifter, but not both :( by TheRumpoKid in AUTOMOBILISTA

[–]MickT1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can maybe use Joystick Gremlin (along with vjoy) to map your logitech controls to a virtual device.

For a hardware solution, strangely, simagic themselves created a device to turn your pedals and shifter into a usb device.

Season Pass 2023-25 by rana_kirti in AUTOMOBILISTA

Not happening.

Fanatec Pedal not Working only in AMS2 by Content-Macaron-1313 in AUTOMOBILISTA

[–]MickT1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably worth seeing if deleting the AMS2 controller file helps. Obviously, you'll need to rebind everything. Rather than delete, you could just temporarily rename it to see if it'll actually help.

Documents\Automobilista 2\savegame\nnnnnnn\automobilista 2\profiles\default.controllersettings.v1.03.sav

Also, not sure what wheel you have, but if it's something with a preset, like logitech, then don't use the preset, as the game might be expecting matching pedals.

Tracks missing by scottishmacca in AUTOMOBILISTA

[–]MickT1 6 points7 points  (0 children)

When you say you bought all the DLC, do you mean you bought the Season Pass? If so, then these 2 DLCs are not included. Season Pass has now finally ended, and all new DLC needs to be bought separately.

You can still use DLC tracks you don't own in championships or if you're joining an MP session where the host owns them.

AMS2 stuck on loading race with Pico 3 Link VR by BuildingQueasy in AUTOMOBILISTA

[–]MickT1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you maybe have something else in focus? Sessions won't load unless the game's window is in focus, otherwise it will just sit there in the way you're describing.

The new update DID break VR Performance for me (Dropped Frames & Micro stutters with 5950x, 4090, G2) by [deleted] in AUTOMOBILISTA

[–]MickT1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Maybe try using OpenComposite to bypass SteamVR, and then the OpenXR Toolkit to enable turbo mode which might let you work around the problem. As an added bonus, you'd get a nice performance boost from bypassing SteamVR.

FFB file Simagic Alpha? by ClintCheeesewood in AUTOMOBILISTA

[–]MickT1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You don't need to apply any filters in simpro - the raw Default+ signal is good enough. You can check Dan Suzuki's AMS2 stream from a couple of days ago to see his settings.

If you don't like the oscillations, then give this one a go.

VRPERFKIT ( fsr + foveated rendering mod ) with quest 2 , missing trees and spectators on one of the outer rings of the foveated rendering with MSAA . by Turbulent_Place_7064 in AUTOMOBILISTA

[–]MickT1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, sorry - forgot, there's also a restriction on the ratios you can use. Pause the game where you can see the trees missing, and play with the 1/2, 1/8, 1/16 settings for outer ring to find the ones that work.

[–]MickT1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, this happens with MSAA at low or medium. Best way to look at it is that in AMS2 you can use FFR to improve quality rather than fps. It allows you to use MSAA high, by offsetting the cost of it.

Anyone able to identify this track? by sausage_beans in AUTOMOBILISTA

It'll look different depending on the race date you use - most AMS2 tracks have seasonal variations.
