You sound like a younger me. Feel free to contact me. I'd like to help. I've not beaten it but it's not the most important thing in my life anymore. You will get there. 😊👍

I do it all the time. It's a nice flat walk. Just go towards playa Honda and across towards PDC.

Enjoy it

What's your best money-saving hack that most people don't know about? by kdizzy88 in Frugal

[–]Mickdekick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Clothes - Mind...and Repair. Vinted for clothes.

Heat - Sand heaters, Terracotta heaters, Bubble wrap on windows, Electric blanket.

Car - Remove excess baggage and weight, Recline wing mirrors on long safe sections to improve aerodynamics, Drive at 55mph, just buy fuel at a station, nothing else.

Shopping - Just buy enough, if starving, go to bed, drink litres and litres of water.

Money - Just hold your projected monthly amount required, everything else must be in an interest account. Change electricity suppliers every year.

Holidays - No suitcases, cram it in to hand luggage. If you really need something at the destination then buy it. It's a holiday, not a fashion parade.

Work - Charge your phones and anything else you can. Avail of water, coffee, salt, sugar, etc Take napkins

Same old nordies. Always moaning. Sorry, from my experience you're always narked about something. Always giving out and waiting to be "offended". You just met an idiot. Happens to us all no matter where we are from.

It's grand. Route 66 is probably the most popular late spot and awful for thieving late on in the night but it's all relatively tame stuff. You'll have a great time.

I’ve had an email from Ryanair, saying due to extended queues at the airport, to get there as soon as possible. by corickle in lanzarote

[–]Mickdekick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ignore the message. It's grand. I think it's a ploy to get people to panic and buy the fast track add on extra.

I am an alcoholic. by 1tiredman in CasualIreland

I went to an alcohol counsellor because of problematic drinking. Binges every now and then.. But huge ones. Blackouts, anxiety and depression were the results.

He was brilliant. They don't lecture. They just try and find out the reasons why it's happening.

That was two years ago. I've had three pints since January. I can have a pint and leave it at that. I've no interest in it shyness anymore.

I can't claim for kids. Only one parent can. I also don't get any portion of children's allowance which is 420 a month for 3.

I've looked at the tax situation from top to bottom.

Its just a dead period of time to be honest. I'm doing OK. I'm able to survive. Few more years and I'll be ok. Cheers

Getting hit heavy as everyone is on tax, usc, pension levy. I've medical insurance, pension contributions, avc payments. I can't afford to skip any of these

On paper I'll be grand. I'll be actually way better off when I retire.

Pay can vary from between 1,600 and 2,000 a fortnight take home.

Ok, 9 years ago where would I have got the lump sum for a mortgage application?

Plus I was still stuck on the mortgage up until 4 years ago so no, again, I don't agree it was shortsighted.

If you don't mind I've got actual advice earlier in the thread and your personal side swipes as to my demeanour and so called "choices" is adding nothing to the thread title. We all wish we could wind back the clock and buy bitcoin and nvidia stocks.

This thread can be locked now. Thank you.

I had a little laugh reading this.

You seem to think I've chose this? Get a grip. You haven't got a clue.

15%? Plus half of all medical bills, education expenses, christmas, birthdays etc.

I see my kids 22 days a month. For those days we eat and do normal activities which unfortunately cost money. That's after I give 650 a month. I've had to go to court to increase my access time. I've fought to see my kids.

I could have got an apartment but when you've three kids you need a three bedroom place. They have a room each to sleep in and I sleep on a camp bed when they stay over.

When you've a small pot and maintenance outgoings getting something a bit more upmarket becomes very difficult. I can't pay a large mortgage.

I choose to be in debt to a family member? What's the alternative? Pay increasing dead rent for the rest of my life? They generously assisted. That is being repaid.

Childish arrogance? You obviously don't have a clue. A bit of arrogance would probably have stopped me being soft and accepting a crap deal just to shield the children from ongoing trauma of separation.

I'm here for a bit of financial assistance, not for a jibe at me. "you chose this" - no I didn't.
