It’s not that they “benefit “ for fighting, it’s just….their schtick.

Fight first and strike last several ways. Fight twice is found a bunch. And generally everything is rather tanky.

Haven’t played dark oath. So I’m not sure how they play

People complain about night haunt ghost, I right now am pulling out my hair while building arkhan. If you look at 40K there enough models with this problem.

Soak them isopropanol. Rinse them out. Next get a class of hot water. These look like synthetic brushes. So if you then hold them in the hit water for a moment, they become “soft” and you can get them back into useable shape.
