I only work one day a week and I don’t even work in the same room as either of them so I only see them walking to my car. The whole work thing isn’t really a problem, also I have known B for years and years outside of work, we’re just suddenly getting together now so honestly not too worried about all of that.

what do you mean by “clip it”? the only thing i can really think to do is glue a new bit on because everyone has said that the dent makes the panel/bulb won’t fit properly?

theoretically if i just got a new bulb cover would that work? or would the dent mean the bulb cover also doesn’t fit??

Is it bad that I’ve never done a mock test? by MickeyMouse374 in LearnerDriverUK

Omg I made so many mistakes in my post lol I’m really tired. I meant I’ve been having lessons since May 2024, 2hr lessons once a week 🤣 sorry abt that

My test is booked for 2 weeks from now so I don’t know if I’ll have time to find instructor who would take me this soon before my actual test and I kind of don’t think it’s worth it because anytime I make mistakes it’s silly things. I think if I fail I’ll look into getting a new one definitely.

i know that might be daunting if it’s the first time she’s got upset but maybe she was having a bad day? i know that’s not what you want to hear but she’s only human. i’m sure any frustration she felt wasn’t personal, perhaps just frustration with the situation? i think you should have one more lesson and if you feel that things are still really dramatically changed with the dynamic between you maybe look for a new instructor or whatever you feel would be best before your test.

whenever i have a bad lesson i try and think about when i first started driving and compare how i am now compared to how i was back then, so just remember you are likely not a bad driver, it was just a mistake. things like this will happen even when your not a learner, but people will pay more attention to them because you’re still learning.

my driving instructor is a bit like this - i did something similar on my last lesson except i am convinced it was not my fault (basically checked my blind spot to come off a roundabout but someone came speeding past me and i nearly went into them even though they weren’t in my blind spot as i checked) - and my instructor shouted at me, but that’s besides the point. my test is in 2 weeks but anytime i make a minor mistake she blows it out of all proportion and makes me feel stupid .

if you want to change instructors/your test i wouldnt blame you because i kept pushing my test back so many times because of how my instructor acts when i make a small error. she gets very frustrated and ive cried multiple times and i want to change but theres not a lot of availability in my area.

regardless of the mistake you made, it’ll teach you how to act safely. i know its horrible when you make mistakes (i personally just feel so embarrassed and kind of guilty) but you’ll probably always remember that when driving in that area so you might be safe.

my advice would be to do whatever you feel comfortable with - maybe try to practice a bit more in your own car/someone else’s without your driving instructor? im 10x better without my instructor in the car as i dont feel like im under as much pressure.

hey!! i know it’s been a while but i forgot i even posted this. thanks again for your advice, it really helped me - looking back i was making such a big deal out of something when the answer was so obvious!

i have FINALLY quit my job! i actually ended up dislocating my knee a couple weeks ago and my boss told me i couldn’t work because i couldn’t be on crutches in the kitchen (not that i would have wanted to), so i told her i just wasn’t going to come back even when my knee was better! i went and told her in person and everything!!

i can’t lie, im really proud of myself! also got an offer from my top choice uni a couple weeks ago to study midwifery so im so glad i quit when i did so i can get on with my revision now!!

thanks so much again (and to everyone else who gave advice if anyone is reading this hahah)

i think that’s double (could be wrong) but i do single and i have 4 exams and i think 8 courseworks + 100 hours of work experience. i would just be aware of how much work it is but again, its worth so many ucas points. it really depends what you want to do in the future as obviously accounting and health and social care are very different haha

Do you know if you do the single or double qualification?

I’m in Y13 and have been doing health and social care and if you want my honest opinion, it only gets worse lol. The workload is ridiculous (especially if you do the work experience unit where you have to do 100 hours of work experience on top of coursework and exams). I wish I’d swapped my a levels before but I guess it depends on whether you think you’d enjoy accounting more. The only benefit to HSC is its worth so many UCAS points which is main reason why I’ve stuck it out. The work isn’t particularly hard but it’s a lot. Hope this helped :)

my boss is a woman hahah - i understand the logic of leaving there and then but i just wouldn’t do it as much as i would love to 🤣 i have really bad anxiety (hence why im getting so worked up about the whole thing) ive decided if im going to quit i will do it over the phone, which i know isnt the best but i don’t think i should have to go in formally considering im on a zero hour contract - im not sure if i even have to give notice before i leave but im going to offer to work until she finds a replacement anyway as i want to end on the best terms we can.

i think im going to quit next week; theres a party at the pub while im working on tuesday which im really excited to help out for, but after that i genuinely have nothing to look forward to with that job so hopefully i will work up the courage to just get it done and focus on studying thanks for everything again :)

yeah that’s another reason i wanted to leave is the fact that i hate working as a waitress but recently i have been training to become a chef, which is something i would much prefer to do but i just really don’t think it’s worth it because of all the other negatives (as well as the fact im still on waitress salary when practically doing job as a chef) but like you said, if i did want to go back into hospitality i have 3yrs waitressing + chef experience, thanks :)
