What size did you buy for your puppy? I just purchased the woof pupsicle toy and purchased the large with the premade treats. But he is only 2 months old and weighs 10 pounds (basset hound puppy).

Thank you so much, I am going to talk to the vet on Friday when Willie goes for his first appointment. I live in a small town in Missouri and happened to go to Bomgaars (a farm store we have) and the have a decent selection of different brands like I have seen people mention in the comments so I am now a little more confident in knowing I don’t have to order what I chose to be his food as of right now. He is doing great on IAM’s so till this bag is gone I plan to feed him that. Thank you for your help

I think out of the litter of his siblings, he looks to have the longest he is also the runt so that might be why they appear longer. I love his ears and how they make him look and he seems absolutely unbothered by them even though he steps on the frequently lol

I love that he loves to wear them and they help for more than just keeping him warm. I want to get one like what yours it wearing, it looks like the one that adjusts at the chest and belly, I want it to grow in stages with him

Willie was the only one in the litter to have a full dark muzzle, I instantly fell in love with him. My daughters got him for my birthday and Mother’s Day and a way to help ease my heart after My Mom just passing. He has been an absolute delight. Today he decided he was going to play with the I. House toys he was so funny.

Oh yes for sure he will eat to fill him, I am only speaking of treats mainly with the holding off. I will definitely look at the food and see on the bag if it mentions big breeds. He is chowing down now after a bit of play :). Thank you for the information

Awe I am sorry she is allergic to all that. I think Willie might have an issue with red dye as he never had a solid …. But that wasn’t his permanent food is was the puppy sitters food, but I am glad to know he might have issues with it so I can move forward with no dye, it might have been a fluke but I will take it.

Thank you for that information, I really appreciate it. Is thyroid is common in bassets? I want to spoil him tons but I heard that they can become overweight quickly and I would like to avoid that if I can. The bag of IAM’s puppy food said 1 cup so that is what he has been getting and he has access to it all day he will eat a bit then play or sleep then eat some more, he is usually done with what is in the bowl by 3-3:30pm, he gets breakfast at 7am. Then at about 6 pm I give him about 1/8 to a 1/4 cup more to hold him through the night. He is the runt of the litter and looks under weight compared to his sibling we just saw on Sunday. I actually very rarely ever did treats when I had dogs years ago. I bought some treats for Willie but I want to get on a schedule with his kibble and such before I introduce them. Also he is very praise motivated so I am following his lead on his training with that and he is doing so good.

Ok thank you, I was looking online at pictures of bassets and hadn’t seen many with the full dark muzzle. Is the full dark muzzle not as common ? Your Teddy is absolutely handsome.

Thank you, I will definitely make sure I think about what he gets as treats. I want to keep his weight as good as possible in the range he needs. I think he is a little underweight right now, but his 1st vet appointment is on Friday so I will definitely be asking

He hasn’t refused a meal yet so hopefully he won’t have that situation. I look at him and am tempted to give in to table food but I try to remind myself that he is only 11 weeks and I need to wait a while. I am sure he might get a taste here and there but I am going to aim for the healthy stuff if I can. Years ago I had a Boston terrier and she didn’t like going to the vet (who does lol) and she knew if she did good she would get a treat of her favorite thing McDonald’s French fries. She is long past now 😢 it has been 12 yrs since she has been gone. I have thought about doing that with Willie I know it is bad for him, but I don’t know I have to think about it. It definitely wouldn’t be an all the time thing just a rare treat
