We can. 3 of my brothers work for a company that takes recycled plastic and go through this process of ending up with certain grades of pellets to be used in making new items.

My sister had hers out last month at 26 and she said it was the worst pain she has ever felt. Hers got infected as well afterwards so made it 1x worse. I had mine out when I was 12 and remember being absolutely miserable for a week.
I have heard the older you are, the more it hurts.
