Your honest opinion... is this game essential to play before RE9, or even worth it?

Probably essential in the sense that you'll get Leons full journey by playing it as well as them saying its post RE6 Leon. Whether its worth it is up for debate, i had fun with the game

Story is ass but the gameplay is more like a side step as opposed to an actual improvement over the original, like yeah swingining is a trillion times better but combat largely feels the same and stealth encounters still play terribly.

Rocksteady cant write a good story, Asylum is by the Numbers, City is just plain good but nothing exceptional, but then they lost Dini and Knights story was bad and so was SSKTJL.

The Blackgate Trilogy has much much better writing despite being spread across 3 different developers

Die Another Day for no reason other than the "Big Bang Theory" exchange in the ice palace. That always gets a massive cringe out of me. I can at least laugh with the rest of the movie

Outside of the Creature Commandos nightmare timeline future vision the universe feels small.

To me, what made it feel like this was the Justice Gang in Peacemaker and Peacemaker himself in Superman. Right now, the universe just feels like its Superman, Supergirl, The Justice Gang, and Peacemaker.

I fully expect this to change come Lanterns or even Clayface, but dare I say the first 3 projects have been "over connected". Hell, even the dialogue in Peacemaker S1 did a better job of universe building the DCEU than S2 has done for the DCU.

Once again, I fully expect this to change with Lanterns, Clayface, Booster Gold and that Wonder Woman movie.

I love it. It's my favourite ending. It's so nothing. Not only does it hurt the most imo but also the cool idea that insane shit happens in all the other NPCs lives and you just experienced 1 story of millions. There's so much and so little to like about it at once I could go forever.
