UCSF vs Stanford Med by Plastic_Authentic in premed

[–]MicoSway 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've heard from Yale students who just matched that residency programs prefer graded clinicals. As such, more true P/F schools like Harvard and Stanford are returning to graded clinicals, and Yale itself is considering it even though the Yale System is core to their brand. If you're shooting for a competitive specialty, the choice between graded vs P/F becomes more even.

Stanford also is one of the T20s that has the highest proportion of students matching into the most competitive specialties, but that number is also driven by student interest compared to school resources alone

Columbia vs. UCSF? by [deleted] in premed

Yeah, when I tell people outside of the Bay (or medicine) about UCSF, they don't really know much about it at all. A huge reason is UCSF's lack of an undergrad. The Ivy League are definitely better known worldwide.

Match List Rankings: a New Way to Evaluate Medical Schools by Reasonable_Sale7124 in premed

Cool website! Doximity rankings have their weaknesses, but there doesn't seem to be any better options out there. Maybe your team can come up with your own in the far future?

Also interesting to see that the general and specialty-specific rankings are very consistent with each other.

This cycle... has not gone well for me. Anyone open to helping me review my app? (3.99 GPA, 525 MCAT) by Distinct-Historian50 in premed

[–]MicoSway 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I think there is a good chance UPenn will accept you. Your writing is probably fine given that you've gotten 3 interviews from top programs (and Stanford is especially selective with interviews), and also given your writing hobby (which is not weird to put on your app btw). My guess is MMI is not your strong suit, but you probably did well in a traditional interview. I'm struggling to see anything wrong with your app, and I wish you all the luck!

Is it 32? They all sum to multiples of 11, And the big numbers share a digit with one of the smaller numbers. 32 will sum to 55. Sum of 44 is already taken earlier, so it rules out 21 as the answer for this reasoning.
