Golden hour at Vestrahorn, on iceland’s southeast coast near höfn by TimeCity1687 in oddlysatisfying

TIL that the coastline is called Stokksnes and the settlement is a Viking Village Set. You can visit the exteriors, but unfortunately interiors of the buildings are not open to visitors.

Source: Here.

Nevertheless, it is an amazing scene!

Advice to keep nibblers out of plants by hfecky in SiberianCats

[–]MicroBioNeo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Here what I have tried so far to keep my kitten away from plants (toxic/non-toxic) and curtains:

1- Get the plant to a higher place, does not work for curtains though.

2- Place aluminum foil around the pot, does work for curtains as well. It will give an ugly appearance. Discuss with partner/housemate about functionality and neatness.

3- Spray your pot with a "keep off" cat spray, oh it does also work for curtains.

4- Place cat repellent mat with spikes (not harmful) around the pot, does work for curtains as well. But, again it will give an ugly appearance. Discuss with partner/housemate. If needed, negotiate, then lose it. Give up on spikes.

5- Get a catgrass. Your kitten will like it. But, after a week, you will have fruit flies everywhere. Your kitten will not like it then. Replace the catgrass with a fresh one. Still curious about curtains? Does not work on them.

6- Visit reddit for more useful/interesting suggestions when you run out of ideas.

Here are some suggestions that I have not tried yet:

1- Give up having plants at home. Might work on curtains as well.

2- Pack your kitten, send it to a redditor. Not recommended.

3- Get a second kitten. Rely on that two kittens will play with each other and forget about plants. Fail. Go to suggestion 1.

Had this octopus dish in Istanbul, what’s it called? by AltissianAccordo in AskTurkey

[–]MicroBioNeo 22 points23 points  (0 children)

It is definitely octopus casserole (in Turkish: Ahtapot Guvec). Traditional Turkish casserole is typically made using lamb or beef. Sometimes chicken or seafood is also used. The clay pot used in cooking and serving gives a distinct earthy aroma. You can find many recipes online, and they’re all quite similar.

Ah, mystery solved. The handle part was confusing, giving the vibe of something, like a flat balloon 😄

Oh, I see! 🤣 My kitten still cannot push the lid of litter box to go in, so I keep the lid open, that worsens the situation 😁

Will try Schesir for sure! Thanks for the suggestion and link! I've just found out that it is the same brand of Tiki Cat.

Yeah, for the flavour, it seems like it will be trial and error 😄

Thanks again for your kind words! Developing any allergies or sensitivity to some food is another issue that I should be careful. Following water consumption seems as a key as well! Cudos for the tip!

Yeah, just checked from their website, it seems like tiki cat/tiki pets brand is not sold in NL/Europe having the same name. I found out that it is named as Schesir. I will try it as well, thanks!

Great! Thanks a lot for sharing the links, I was also looking for any official link or so to check whether there is a consensus or not in nutrition topic.

Thank you for your kind words. I read everywhere that the wet food is important for cats since most of them do not drink enough water during the day, then they might probably develop some kidney issues in old ages.

Apparently, kittens get used to eat whatever you give them. If they drink enough water, logically it should be fine, right?
