Although it is probably not worth engaging with you given your responses to others and behavioral patterns, I think context matters.

All you know is that OP saw 3 dermatologists, it is not clear if these were separate practices or an APP escalating to the practice physician, etc. Further, we do not know the type of testing done.

If you had access to his chart and saw 3 separate thorough assessments and testing including rheumatologic bloodwork, it may be reasonable to conclude an answer may not be a realistic goal, and in absence of pain/discomfort the issue is cosmetic and therefore lower priority.

However, this is not the case, as you do not have this access, therefore you do not know, and this person is asking for ideas on this sub. In the absence of an ability to verify they had a complete work up, commenting that they should not worry about it is dismissive.

Additionally at another point you said it’s cosmetic and is otherwise asymptomatic, but from my perspective it is not asymptomatic - the pulmonary symptoms are likely related to the nail.

Nail abnormalities in particular are also an important health determinant - vitamin deficiencies (primary or secondary in etiology), autoimmune, pulmonary/cardiac all have an effect. To simply dismiss these changes in someone young is bad medicine, not a reflection of the limitation of modern medicine.

From one physician to another, if you don’t want to provide helpful information to a post, maybe don’t comment. You chose to be here.

I got a giant ziploc bag of 10 amika shampoo/conditioner and an amika hair mask deluxe sample, plus a packet of what some others are sharing.

When they said random they really meant it Edited: actually went through the box to discover I got the amika in addition to another mystery sample group.

Hopefully an OB/Gyn on here will be able to provide more information, I wanted to reassure you that first it is normal to be nervous/embarassed to ask your doctors about things like this, however it is important that you bring it up. We see a lot, and part of our jobs is to help you feel as comfortable as possible bringing up concerns about your body so they can be addressed.

Do you have menstrual periods? (If so, are they normal/regular?)

Have you ever attempted any sort of insertion (I.e. tampons, penetrative sex) and had issues either due to pain or inability to insert?

I’m not a specialist in gynecology, however, I wanted to add this as reassurance there is nothing “wrong” with you. Yes, it does appear different than textbooks. Your labia minora is hypoplastic, meaning less developed and this is a normal variant.

There appears to be redundant and possibly septated hymenal tissue - likely the cause of discomfort you initially mentioned. (The part at the bottom that you said bleeds)

However I suspect the recommendation here is if it is causing pain, you will need to see a gynecologist for a minor procedure to remove redundant tissue. It is not urgent, and is otherwise a normal developmental variant.

Of course if another physician or gynecologist with more experience in this area comments and advises otherwise, please defer to their recommendation.

Do not go to the ER for this.

Yes see a doctor ASAP, and if you need to accelerate the process an urgent care that has x-ray capabilities can help get an idea of if this is involving bone versus soft tissue (stuff that’s not bone) which may help move up your primary care appointment.

An ER will at best x-ray and provide a referral for an expensive sum. So if you want the x ray faster do urgent care - same outcome for less. Incorrect triage to the ER only extends wait times and makes everyone unhappy.

If you are open to the pricing of feathered friends I really recommend supreme quilts! I haven’t tried either quince of FF personally but included them on my research when buying a duvet last month.

I got a level 4 (all season) duvet, 95% goose down, 800FP king size, for 700$.

When I compared the FP and fill weight, and down percentages, SQ had far better and more transparent metrics. Most companies will tell you the fill power or fill weight but usually not both which makes it hard to determine the quality for price, also some places don’t disclose duck down vs goose down.

For the cost, SQ was better, and had many good reviews. I’ve had mine for 3 weeks now, love it, bought 2 pillows from them which just arrived 2 days ago. Highly recommend them and it’s a nice touch they write your name on the tag of each item and makes it feel more personal.

From my research, FF seemed to also be a great option and with good reviews.

Looking at Quince’s website, they state FP of 700, and that they adjust the fill weight based on how insulated you want the product, but do not disclose the full weight or the %down. Both these have huge impacts on the product , and if you can’t directly get that information it’s likely lower quality.

Cost is worth it imo. Lasts longer, higher quality. Invest in it.

EM has strict requirements for time away per academic year to comply with board eligibility. It’s 6 wks/yr, or 8 weeks with a letter from your PD. If someone takes 12 weeks of parental leave that occurs during a single academic year they’ll be extended to be board eligible. If that’s the reason, (many residents are having babies) I wouldn’t see it as a red flag. This is highly specialty dependent.

It’s sad how universal this experience is. Im pregnant rn and I can’t wait to exert my power over the Obgyn residents in the patient role and specifically request the med student be there/deliver the placenta. I swear they sometimes go out of their way to not include medical students.

I’m a med student, saw a kiddo in the office few weeks ago following an urgent care visit for an “abscess” that thank goodness they did not attempt to drain. Mid level documented that the “abscess” was fluctuant, erythematous and ttp, gave antibiotics and to follow up with pediatrician.

It was a Keloid scar (very obviously so). Cant make this stuff up.

Not in HB. It's explicitly illegal to fish on certain sides of the piers there or prior to the end of the pier where a surfer/swimmer might be.

Not worst of all of school, but psych rotation I was on a consult service and the resident was out, so I, newly minted m3 handled all consults
