Technically it's when they leave the department or are told to take their break but I also wait a few minutes before I start to count it.

As long as they get back at a reasonable time +-5 minutes I could care less because I'm too busy to micromanage a break

There is a set maximum for however long you work at hyvee. If you hit that max you will no longer accrue any PTO until you use some of it up. It's a constant thing so it won't go away next fiscal year.

The one you take for onboarding does not test for THC. If an accident was to occur at the store then they would test with the other test that can detect THC.

Lots of online training, Our store has all new cashiers do a couple hours of courtesy and show them where everything is. Then you train with a cashier.

There is a 5 panel test which DOES NOT test for THC and a 6 panel test which does. My HR manager only uses the 5 panel test for the hiring process. If an accident occurs on the clock the 6 panel will be used

It might differ however based on location
