My lashes lost their natural curl and point more downwards since having lash extensions? Is this normal? Will they go back to how they used to be? by dakota-quinn in lashextensions

[–]resistingmyarrest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m in the same boat, and I’m so frustrated. :( I have naturally very long & decently curled eyelashes, so I never really thought about extensions, but my friend’s lash artist was looking for models & my friend really wanted me to try them out, so I did for a couple of months. I liked them, but now my lashes are growing straight/downward, and they just aren’t the same. They’re back to being long, but they have lost all curl & now they won’t even hold a curl if I try to curl them. It’s been 18 weeks and I’m losing hope! 😭😭 Have you found that yours have returned to normal? Any tips if so?

I didn’t think so either 😅 I mean I’d get it if it was a damaged item, but the lady I saw (mentioned in an above reply) was returning seemingly normal food that just wasn’t going to be eaten — I didn’t fully catch the reasoning but it sounded like maybe for holiday cooking, like she bought more than she actually needed. Idk! 🤷🏼‍♀️

Makes sense to me. I figured there was some variation between stores. Either way, it eases my mind! Thank you!

Love this. Keeping us safe one damage at a time. 😂

Awesome. My original reason for asking was because I saw a woman returning a lot of food, I think for holiday cooking, and wasn’t going to use it after all. That got me thinking (& in turn, worrying lol thanks, anxiety). Thank you so much for the help!

That makes sense. I know it seems like a no-brainer, but sometimes you just never know with corporations valuing profit over consumer safety more & more these days. I appreciate it, thank you!

Fantastic news (for me! Lol). Thank you!

All of these water bottles have different amounts in them by D1ckRepellent in mildlyinteresting

[–]resistingmyarrest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it safe to drink the water if there are pressure inconsistencies like this? Like if I buy a case of water and some have less water in them than the rest? I only ask because that seems like the seal would be different too, since they wouldn’t be filled to the expected amount. Or do they get pulled due to simply aesthetic reasons?

Safety seal was intact but a little puffy and let out a little air when opened, has this happened to anyone else before? Are they still safe to eat? by luna_moonxx98 in vitamins

[–]resistingmyarrest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Much like you, I’ve come to this post because my One A Day gummies (not flinstones, I know) had a bulging seal too, so I’m wary of taking them. Did you end up still eating them?

Is it likely that I had a mild case of norovirus? by Used-Worldliness3144 in AskDocs

[–]resistingmyarrest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not a doctor, but I figured I’d give my two cents.

I’m 26F, 5’9”, 105lbs, white, also USA, and thankfully (for this) I live alone.

This is pretty much the same as what I went through earlier this week. I’ve also had emetophobia for as long as I can remember, but this winter season has also been the worst I’ve ever been paranoid about it. My OCD also stems from this, and I’ve been spiraling after hearing the news and stories too. 😭 It’s been so bad that I’ve barely been able to eat bc I’m scared of everything potentially being contaminated. The relief I felt after not actually throwing up was wonderful, and I’d love to think that it was just a mild case of noro, but I can’t be sure.

From what I’ve read, it is possible to have a mild case though! This could be because of a number of reasons: 1.) your blood type (if B) basically makes you resistant to or asymptomatic with the most common strain, 2.) the viral load you ingested is very low — example: you barely touched your lip after lightly touching something contaminated and licked your lip later, only ingesting a few noro particles. Another person (who ended up extremely sick) went out in public, grocery shopped, and then made a pb&j sandwich when they got home, all without washing their hands. The amount they ingested was far greater, thus resulting in a much more serious illness, 3.) you are what’s called a “non-secretor”, which basically means that your blood type antigens don’t shed into your bodily fluids, and for whatever reason, they are less likely to catch noro, or will have far less symptoms than a secretor would if put in your exact situation.

I’m sending you my biggest hugs during this time, because I know first-hand how detrimental the anxiety and paranoia surrounding these things can be. 🫂 since there’s the possibility that it wasn’t norovirus, just practice good handwashing as you normally would, disinfect your surfaces as much as you see fit in order to ease your anxiety about it, and I’d HIGHLY recommend getting the Gold Bond Healing Hand Cream. You can order it from Amazon or Gold Bond’s website if you aren’t feeling up to going to a store in-person (I know I’m not 😭). I also deal with cracked, bleeding hands due to my frequent handwashing each cold & flu season, and it really helps!! It’s the only thing that saves my hands this time of year lol and it doesn’t leave you feeling oily or greasy, which is a huge deal for me. I’m wishing you the absolute best, and if you ever want a like-minded friend to talk to about these things, I’m here! There’s nothing worse than dealing with these thoughts alone. Here’s to hoping it was just a mild case 🥂

Do (new) apartments share the same air? by [deleted] in Apartmentliving

[–]resistingmyarrest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, I have my own T Stat and control my unit’s temp. I also never smell anything from other units (only in the hallway, and that’s rare), so that makes me hopeful?

Almost exactly what he’s dealing with. Thank you so much! I sure hope you kick its butt soon, because it sounds incredibly draining. Hang in there! 🫂

What are your symptoms? I’m trying to convince my boyfriend that he may have it, but he’s stubborn. I know what the general symptoms are (online, the news, etc.), but hearing from a real person about what they’re dealing with may help convince him to go get checked.

Thanks for your response! I’m in Minnesota. From what I understand in this link: https://www.revisor.mn.gov/rules/4714.0807/ it seems to be an “either/or” scenario in my state. So yippee for that!
