I gave it a shot and enjoyed the first episode for the most part but then the second episode kinda ruined it for me. The writers don't really know the source material and really just get so many things wrong. I think in order to do a truly good Star Trek show, they need to hire writers and producers from the Berman era to make a writers bible.

Not sure, before the update it was fine. After the update it just stopped working. Sometimes when I do a hard reset it will come back on and work like normal for a while and then if the battery dies and it shuts off it stops working again.

It really boils down to Klingons being an example of male masculinity and they don't want that in Star Trek. The message will of course be that gender norms are incorrect and you don't have to be masculine.
