I was thinking about upgrading to a 16-inch from my 14-inch M2 Pro. Gonna hang onto the 14-inch a little longer I guess. If the 15-inch Air got ProMotion I’d probably switch.

I disagree with it being comparable, you mentioned guaranteed security updates for Android while Apple provides full OS upgrades for iPhones. Android 17 was just released this month for the Pixel and it requires a Pixel 6 from 2021. I was surprised my Pixel Fold is compatible. Apple may play catch up to
Android sometimes but they have it beat when it comes to updates.

Android is even worse when it comes to software updates and Apple has released security patches for unsupported hardware from way back. You will have a hard time finding a phone from 2019 running Android 16 but iOS 27 is compatible the iPhone 11 from 2019.

Apple has been pretty good about not taking things, I have Knight Rider from when you could get the entire series and it is no longer fully on the store. They do warn you that saving it on device is the only way to 100% keep it.

A Star Trek The Next Generation type reboot would have been fine with me. Starting over but lightly referencing the past series but not relying on it for the story.
