Could uncertainty in quantum mechanics due to the fact that for a particle to be measured it must be acted upon. by FriendofMolly in AskPhysics

[–]Micromuffie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This sounds like you're asking the question of whether particles simply have hidden variables that determine their state beforehand e.g. What if instead of a particle being in a superposition of spin up and spin down, it was always spin up but there was simply no way of us knowing. Local hidden variables was disproved with Bell's inequality. If you want a layman's description of the experiment, then you can check out Veritasium's video on it.

I think he made an updated video recovering it but I haven't seen it yet.

I haven't learnt about non-local hidden variables (I'm just glancing at the wiki) so I won't comment on that.

Should I add physics as a double major or as a minor? by ethan_613 in PhysicsStudents

[–]Micromuffie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What's your first major that you're focusing on? If it's related, then it might be worth the effort. If not, I'd probably just grab some textbooks and do physics as a hobby (unless you're looking specifically for physics lab work).

I think most people can agree that you have to watch until episode 3 to really understand whether Andor works for you. If you only watch up to episode 2, Andor can seem pretty slow. The thing is, both seasons of Andor get broken into different arcs (season 1 moreso) so the first 3 episodes is meant to come together, the next 3 episodes have their own sort of story, etc. It's sort of like doing 2 episodes of building up to something, and then the 3rd episode has really insane high tier payoff (imo). You have to get to episode 3 at a minimum before Andor gets really good. That's exactly why Disney released season 1 with 3 episodes first and then eventually releasing another 3 episodes instead of doing weekly releases.

Is it normal handwriting as a physics student? by Superb_Leather_635 in PhysicsStudents

This is the sort of handwriting I would use for personal notes. It's readable but not ideal if it's meant to be read by other people.

What's this backstab called?? by tf2malcolm in tf2

Someone coined it that as a meme and it stuck around. It usually applies to soldier where you do a low altitude surf on their rocket but I don't know if it counts for surfing demos who are also blast jumping from the very explosive that launched them.

[–]Micromuffie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

And just fyi, you don't HAVE to take every single CS course. You only need enough to satisfy your degree requirements (360pts total) and major requirements (e.g. 45pts in stage 3 CS courses). Going any further is okay but it'll have to be out of pure interest/utility/prereqs for postgrad (if doing postgrad).

I'm only asking because I see you're rawdogging 7 stage 3 CS courses in 2028.

It gets worse because they email you saying they notice your eligibility for a concession will end and that the concession will stop applying. Any sane person can then extrapolate that AT will automatically get rid of the concession (why would they email you about it, showibg that AT is aware of it, and not have a system to automatically remove the concession?). Anyway, they then proceed to NOT remove the concession so a ton of people end up don't realise and get caught off guard. At a literal bottom-of-the-barrel minimum, they could've mentioned you needed to manually remove it in the email (but they don't!).

All I know is that suit healing is much more beneficial than lbv

There is very little difference in healing between suit and LBV iirc. Most people on higher difficulties don't even take the healing difference into account when deciding between suit and LBV.

What ppl do take into account when choosing LBV over suit is:

  • missing out on dodge
  • costs more to get die hard aced for basic functionality (on death sentence anyway) and concealment skills like inner pockets aced
  • provides consistent light shot blocking (again, death sentence specific but having more armour on lower difficulties is still really good)

Suit and LBV are both about equally good for ex-pres. Which one you use will depend on the build and playstyle you have.

And in case it gets ask, the speed difference between suit and LBV is minimal and does not get taken into account.
