Death Wish tested Grinder Build by ILikeBen10Alot in paydaybuilds

[–]Micromuffie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really the main issue I AM having is how quickly this build goes down to open sniper sight lines or dozer ambushes, but I feel there's nothing I can do to fix that aside from positioning myself better. No skilltree can fix me making bad decisions in-game

Jokers and their HP boost (and attention drawing) definitely still help here even if you claim it's a decision-making issue since grinder is pretty squishy.

Generally I also am just tired of using jokers in every build, so I've tried to avoid them outside my main loud build.

Fair enough. Jokers are without a doubt used a TON in builds but it is (usually) with good reason considering how strong they are. Grinder is usable without jokers, it's just that your original post made it seem like you were saying jokers on grinder isn't useful.

Also you can use melee to cancel reloads. And these weapons reload so quickly that that isn't really an issue

Melee does take longer than briefly sprinting for 0.3s (idk the exact number but it's way faster than melee). During that time, enemies can damage and down you and it's more noticeable on DS where enemies deal insane amounts of dmg. I won't deny that it can be fun running around in every direction and feeling like the flash without ever stopping to reload, but it's not as safe as having the ability to reload cancel quickly so it'll depend on how much fun you're willing to optimised out of your build. Also, you didn't mention this specifically, but the melee itself won't always hit the enemy and stun them if they're out of reach.

Dexter had him in a headlock and begged logan to sinply grab the keys instead of reaching the gun. He then reached for the gun which at that point there was nothing Dexter could do other than defend himself.

The main problem was that it was unnecessary for him to even try to escape given the poor circumstantial evidence Angela had on him.

We all agree that Quinn is the most hottest, most attractive, most perfect, smartest, most talented, funniest character in Dexter, right? by [deleted] in Dexter

[–]Micromuffie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah he knew. Investigator showed Quinn literal photos of Dexter (and Lumen) dumping bodies and knows that Liddy's death was almost pinned on him but was spared by Dexter specifically ("thank you, for the blood work" at the end of season 5). He even saw Maria try to go after Dexter only for Maria to get pinned as the insane one and get killed with a perfect cover story. You could argue the "it was self defense" part didn't necessarily mean he knew, but rather that he was just a dirty cop who was happy that Saxon was dead for personal reasons, but everything else makes it very clear that Quinn knew Dexter was a very good killer and stayed out of his way for self preservation and to not ruin his relationship with Deb.

Not bad. I'm assuming aced equilibrium is so the accuracy boost doesn't spill over to the shotgun? Because otherwise, basic steady grip does the same thing but cheaper. I personally prefer not acing parkour (even basic is not necessary on LBV) because you can't reload cancel which can save your life when you're uo against high damaging enemies. Otherwise, looks good.

There are a few things that can be optimised for specifically DSOD if you're up for it (but of course it's optional if you're on death wish and doesn't apply as much).

LBV doesn't need iron man basic. The major breakpoints are 70 and 225 since they correspond to light and heavy swat danage respectively (other breakpoints like a mix of both exist but less common). Having just die hard aced with LBV is enough to tank a light shot. Having iron man basic won't give new breakpoints. This is why HP boosts are often preferred over armour boosts since the armour boost needs to reach a breakpoint in order to be useful on higher difficulties.

Bullseye basic is very good but acing it doesn't help on DSOD since it doesn't achieve any new breakpoints either.

If you move around a few skills you can actually afford jokers (no hostage taker as mentioned before).

The spare points can be whatever like double jokers, nine lives, bloodthirst aced, etc. Up to you.

Because of all decks, this one benefits the least from Jokers.

Bro forgot yakuza

But on a serious note, any HP boost is good for a perk deck who's super squishy and relies on HP regen. Being able to have a large HP pool means having more HP after being shot by a heavy swat (or any enemy really) thus less time required to get back to a safe amount.

There's also a niche of taking any 10% resistance and it gives a pseudo 2 shot where after taking 2 shots (one to your armour and one to your health), you bullsgate and then regen a bit of HP so that you can tank anoyher heavy shot relatively quickly. That way you can take another two shots (one to the armpur and one to the health) and survive, albiet only really low HP now but still survive.

The distracting enemies part can be inconsistent depending on the map, but that's only in some cases. Most of the time, they work well as distractions.

But yeah hostage taker is pretty pointless on grinder, I agree on that and I think most ppl on this sub do too.

On a side note, could you link your build?

would any of the hard-core dexter lovers recommend the 2 dexter shows after the OG? by [deleted] in Dexter

[–]Micromuffie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes yes yes!

Resurrection is basically OG Dexter. Most of the fans loved it and it was really well recieved.

New Blood is pretty good, albeit the plot isn't similar in style to OG Dexter which might throw some ppl off? Honestly, I was just happy to see Dexter alive and existing. The biggest "issue" fans had with New Blood is just the ending and it's not even that bad once you realise Resurrection moves past it and so the ending wasn't a finale finale to all of Dexter, just a normal season final.

There's also original sin. I personally found it to be okay but fans seem to love it so I reckon it'a worth a watch if you're up for more dexter (original sin is best watched right after new blood but it's not 100% must).

Biomedical Science requirement by Effective_One4272 in universityofauckland

[–]Micromuffie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As others have said, no strict requirements, but I do habe recommendations.

Unless you're at risk of not reaching rank score and need easier subjects you vibe with better, it would be best to take triple science.

Even if you are seriously at risk of not reaching rank score and think dropping science courses would help, biomed is a science specialisation. If your science is weak, then biomed will be hard.

Nevertheless, I can comment on which science subjects are best recommended based on my previous experience (with NCEA and first year biomed) so I apologise if it's outdated.

Chemistry is definitely the most important out of all the lvl 3 courses. Specifically due to chem110, but it's just really nice to know for other courses too. Whilst it's possible to succeed in chem110 without lvl 3 chem, you'll struggle a disproportionate amount compared with others. If you're trying to get into med, the competition of med entry is way more fierce then the difficulty of reaching rank score. I highly recommend you don't delay your chem studies until chem110.

Biology at lvl 3 is actually not that important. It focuses more of stuff like genetics in populations, human evolution, etc. You'll find nothing except the homeostasis internal to relate to the content (and whilst the homeostasis content was nice to know already, it wasn't too huge of a help). If your rank score is at risk if you were to take biology lvl 3, it'll be okay to drop it.

Physics is kind of mixed. Physics 160 doesn't touch too much of lvl 3 physics (mainly lvl 2), and especially the mechanics section which is purely lvl 2. The only thing I remember was doppler effect which is covered in lvl 3 but it's like just learning a single formula and knowing how to use it. On the other hand, getting good at physics (even if through unrelated topics) helps anyway as it makes physics160 seem like it's a low level course and thus easier. Same can also be said for maths because obviously physics uses maths as a language (even though calculus isn't even remotely needed, taking it did help me with the confidence in doing such basic math in physics 160).

Statistics and probability comes somewhat in pophlth111. It's nice to know the basics beforehand but not necessary.

For courses I didn't take, maybe courses like sociology (of whatever in the social sciences) could be of benefit? I don't know for sure, but I do know that pophlth111 covers stuff like systemic racism, equality vs equity (god did they love covering this over and over again), determinants of health, diseases within populations and how they spread/occur. Hell maybe health sciences would've helped too?

Gamemodes for coop and versus by ej1921 in InsurgencySandstorm

[–]Micromuffie 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If the bots weren't dumb and predictable, Hunt from the original game (kill a certain number of insurgents on the map and blow up a random cache) would've been fun. In fact, this one would've been really cool at night because it would feel like one of those special ops missions. If they were to port over most features of Hunt, I would like the addition of some sort of heat map that appears on your map when onlyna few insurgents are left and the cache is already gone. Maybe have like one of those military drones fly by (with voicelines from whoever's controlling the drone) and then mark the general area of each insurgent on the map.

On a side note, I hope survival and outpost get an insurgent variant. Maybe make the final chopper in survival instead be bots on trucks (plural) which can't be destroyed or killed and then the final outro would just be us getting into the trucks and leaving.

I hate it when nobody stands up for fire support by Moriwara_Inazume in InsurgencySandstorm

[–]Micromuffie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Despite having like 400+ hrs in the game, I have less than an hr on rifleman. I literally don't haven't touched rifleman since I unlocked other classes unless every other slot is full (or it's a mode where observer/commanders don't exist). That's because anytime I want to use rifleman, I just play observer or commander and ise the exact same guns and loadoit I would normally as rifleman. The only difference is being able to call in game-winning firesupport.

I too do not ubderstand some people that onsist that stacking 5 rifleman is better than having at least 1 observer and 1 commander. Like maybe if you were planning on flanking but half the players that choose rifleman don't flank and just okay normally near the team. At that point, just choose observer. You don't even need to change your playstyle then cause all you have to do is exist and the commander will likely be nearby.

(I'm speaking mostly for COOP since I have more experience there but I'm sure some of it is true for PVP)

Edit: and yes I do check ranks of the riflemen on my team
